Dead people voted for JFK in droves too.
A sizebale chunck of my ancestry is Native American, but I would not vote for an American Indian *just because* they are AI. I would not feel any conflict over not voting for an AI because he or she held political beliefs contrary to my own.
I feel conflicted because I would like to be able to support the first “viable black candidate” and I cannot.
You forgot Half-Wit!
Is this your first comment on FreeRepublic, darlin'...?
Just the thought of having more White radio personalities makes it hard for me to listen to Williams. I mean he of all people should understand how important it is that we all support only those who look like us even if the think and talk like members of the old Soviet Central Committee.
Bye Williams, please don’t think me a racist, but I really do want only my own to succeed and I would listen to Air America as over you as long as the host is White. PLEEEZE!
Oh yeah, he said she didnt. Even though his white grandparents practically raised him, he has CHOSEN to identify with his black absent father. WTH?
Ok, lets be perfectly honest, if Obama was just the guy next door or a co-worker and you had to describe him, would you call him white?
No, I wouldn’t call him anything.
Hope you are agreeing with Johnny7 with that hmmmmmmmm.
welcome to FR from another noob.
Can whites comment on this thread?
Do you realize that this is pure racism? What you have said that color of his skin is the first motivating influence and his stupid qualification is secondary.
Obama is not only NOT Black.....he’s ARAB.....
Obama is not only NOT Black.....he’s ARAB and VERY RED!
By opting, generally, for supporting one of their own feminists destroyed, utterly, any and all remaining credibility they had in professing to hold moral high ground. And they are now a spent force, old news, more pitied than scorned, and they are essentially ignored as the irrelevancy that they in fact are.
Will the same happen to black conservatives? Time will tell. But the choice is theirs. And others are watching, and waiting, to see what that choice will be.
Hmmmmm....wonder how much German and English and Scottish John McCain has in him.....maybe I should consider that????
Well, I am in the same situation: Half Irish/Half Japanese - face value: to the average Joe, I look Asian, I look in the mirror, I see - Asian Female but I know who I am and who my parents were and I am proud of both sides, unlike the fox who wears many faces-(obama). I will not let the racist neanderthals of this world define me. Trust me in my forty-six years on The Lord’s great planet, I had my share of inquiries that could fill a salad bowl: are you adopted?, do you speak English?, go back to your own country, do you use chopsticks?, show me some bruce lee moves?, or when I was down South in Tennesee: I was asked at a country conveinence store: girl you, Vietnamese?/Just Asking - seoul62........
“Obamas candidacy appears to be doing for black conservatives what Clinton’s sexual peccadilloes did for feminists - presenting them with a choice between supporting one of their own or supporting what they profess to believe.”
Very good. That’s it in a nutshell.
IMO racism is when you HATE someone because of their race, not when you want to support one of your own. If that was the case there should be no St. Patrick’s Day parade or no Chinatown in San Francisco. I am black, I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE. But I don’t hate white people (hence the white husband of 20 years). I love it when I see black people who are successful and have waded and slogged through the obstacles of life; make something of themselves. It would have been wonderful if Obama was the type of candidate I could really support.
