When you vote for someone who is against everything that you believe in, just because he happens to be the same skin color as you, how is that NOT racist? How is that not surrendering your principles?

The whole conversation we’re having here proves that we’ve not “moved beyond race”... Some of us have (I would venture that most of Middle America has), but the Democrat Party is one giant racist pimp organization that PREVENTS the country from moving beyond race, and, following their Marxist doctrine, keeps fomenting conflict being groups. so there is a constant state of low-level racial animosity at any given time that can reach a boiling point. It helps THEM, NOT the country.

Be an American first; decide what is better for a country that your children will inherit. You want them living under socialism/communism? You want them to have NO chance of succeeding exceot what some government bureacrat deems for them? Is that how you were raised? I think not.

This isn’t about US - it’s about our kids’ futures. We fought National Socialists (Nazis), International Socialists (Communists), and other forms of liberal facism for years; do we want to let them win now, HERE of all places, after so much American blood and lives have been expended? Those dead men were AMERICAN CITIZENS like you and me; they had hopes, dreams, loves, and lives that they gave up so that the enemy they fought would NEVER be able to do here what they did in Europe and Asia.

And now here we are, watching one of the enemy climb his way to the top over all those bodies, grinning and fooling all in his path.

We are Americans FIRST, or we are NOTHING at all, and all those fine, brave men have died in vain. I don’t consider myself a “White American” or a “European American” - that’s the language of the enemy. I’m not voting for McCain because he’s white, I’m voting for him because he’s the better AMERICAN candidate who I hope will take this country in the right direction - AWAY from liberal socialism. He’s not my first choice, but he is the ONLY choice right now.

I am an AMERICAN FIRST, always and foremost.

I’ll not be part of that. Socialists can go ANYWHERE else on earth and have their little Utopia Workers’ Paradise.

This is OUR country. They need to know that it won’t be given up without a fight.

To vote for someone because of the color of their skin is as abhorent as not voting for someone because of the color of their skin.

Absolutely.
I am shocked/appalled that this is even an issue. If you believe in Marxism uber alles - then go for it. But voting for, or against, someone simply because of the hue of his skin color?? What is this nonsense?
I guess it is true. We still are a racist society.
Thank goodness men like Shelby Steele have their heads screwed on right.

But to hear these words from JC Watts, Huckabee ('this is a historic moment' ...???), and these other fellows where they exalt skin color over character, experience, and ideas - makes me gag...

I feel ya’ Sis. Why do people always put a finger on who you are? They need to be able to identify you in their own minds to feel comfortable or something. I think it is strange. My kids tell me they are asked “what are you?” (My son says “a boy”) ...are you Mexican? Puerto Rican?...Id. My son can blend in with literally any race but black. When my husband is out with the kids and I am not around they say “What is your wife?” He says “American”. Why can’t people, just be people?

Obama is not black. He is HALF BLACK. Half Marxist. Half socialist. Half anti-American. Half anti-military. Half anti-defense. Half racist. Half anti-Constitution. Half power mad. Half tax crazy.

Fortunately for us, he's also half-assed.

NFHale, I don’t think you read my post correctly. I did not say I am voting for Obama. ...re-read, then re-rant.

Given his history and overseas activities in Kenya, Obama would have issues getting a security clearance. He might be a US citizen but he is not an American much less black.

Wasn’t ranting at you, and my apologies to you if it seems so. Truly.

To put it simply, I am deeply, deeply concerned for the future of this country, our traditions, our liberty, and our people. This guy is a shyster, and whoever his handlers are are doing a fine job, right out of the Mao playbook.

We are watching our country being taken over, and still people sleep.

Again, my apologies, ma’am.

Are you sure you can be a black Arab. Do you mean Muslim? That is different than Arab.

I’m also concerned about the future of this country because of the decline of values and the continued attempted suppression of Judeo-Christian values.

I believe, and this is my opinion - it stems from the environment that they grew up in and how they were brought up. If you are not exposed to other people, then what do you know about them?/Just Asking - seoul62.......

You've fell victim to the liberal ploy to change the meaning of words. A racist was always someone who hated a person because of their race.

Identifying with someone who looks like you is not racism, it's natural. The reason liberals changed the meaning is so white people couldn't identify with white people. It was still ok for every other race to identify with its own.

Obama may be the first but he will not be the last, nor the best. Would the wise maiden choose the first suitor to come along, or defer in waiting for one suitable?

Then he is not a conservative is he?

I know their game; I’ve read their words. They’ve left a mountain of bodies in the 20th century, and want to try it again here.

Let’s NOT let it happen. If You’re American and a Patriot, you’re my brother (or sister!!!). Don’t care about your color. Never did, never will.

If You’re a lib/commie/socialist/progressive/insert-latest-euphemism-for-fascist, well, then you are the enemy, to be treated with contempt, malice, and scorn.

Pretty much sums me up. I’m not all that complex...

As a Conservative black woman, I too feel this conflict. I am excited at the prospect of Obama getting this far and that our country has progressed enough for him to be a serious contender.

I don't know why people have a hard time understanding this. My family is old time Irish Catholic and they all went in spasms of joy when John Kennedy was elected.

I'm a middle aged white guy and even I'm impressed that a black man is finally a serious contender for the White House...I just wish it was Michael Steele.
