-—College-educated Americans have come to believe that their money is safe with Democrats—but their values are under threat from Republicans.-—
I’m college educated, and don’t believe either statement.
Who do you suppose Frump was writing this to? Maybe it is an resume enhancer to see if he can hitch a ride in Bama's chariot.
I would say that religion and morality are vital to the continued existance of our nation, for religious and moral people are what maintain and grow the country.
But... morality cannot and should not be legislated. Is that not one of our prime grievances against Islam? Sharia law is not something I wish to live under.
Yet, some would have us go down that road.
Yes, indeed they do.
Be careful, you are earning wrath.
Sorry; my mistake; Frum is not a conservative. I take back my silly comment. Thanks for the information.
Opposites cannot peacefully coexist.
IOW, he don’t know his arse from his elbow...
...and I doubt he ever will.
If they won't do it willingly, then you FORCE them to. You get the grassroots base of the party organised, and you remove their power structure right out from under them.
the only wrath I fret over is God’s
criticizing folks determined to destroy my culture in plain sight is a wrath I can endure
Frum isn’t allergic to religion. You’ll never hear him criticize Judaism, for example. But he is hostile to traditional Christianity, as are many other neocons.
My take is , the GOP and RNC power structure is not about to give up their perks and power. They don't care that they have been repudiated nationwide and relegated to minority status in DC for a generation. There's too much pork in the trough to be had, still.
We need to enumerate the principles a new conservative party would fight for, for the country, like Newt's 1994 Contract for America. And then start a new party to get it enacted.
Thanks to George Bush's fiddling while Rome was burning, the GOP brand has been reduced to ashes in the mind of the public.
In the marketplace, when your brand has been destroyed, you start over with a new brand.
Here's the truth. We don't need the GOP--they need us.
We need to stop the abused wife behavior and get the divorce and build a new life.
But will the Repubs think out-Democrating the Demos be foolish enough to think that is the way to power? Give the Dems time to implode while we remain true to conservative principles.
David Frum is a clown.
His “brand” of conservatism is what has devastated the GOP in the short term. Frum wants a GOP that advocates for adventurous foreign wars, abandons traditional values, and embraces global warming in their platform. It’s clear that David has spent WAAAAAAAAY too much time in the DC/NY scene because a Republican Party with that platform would never be a viable national party.
Thank GOD David Frum and his ilk have dwindling influence in the party. One good thing about Bush leaving office is that he will take a lot of these big-government “compassionate conservative” neo-conservatives with him. GOOD RIDDENCE!!
—College-educated Americans have come to believe that their money is safe with Democrats...”-—
I’m a college-educated American, and I say, the heck with that!
And looking at the shape of the stock market, I suspect I’m far from the only one....
