I did come across this video before the elections. How many college kids will have the patience to watch this video? Most of the college kids don’t know the difference between capitalism and communism. I am in chapelhill, NC which is very liberal. You go to birthday parties and you will have games, where, everyone wins. This is the generation that is coming out.

What’s the alternative? Give up?

If people can be deprogrammed from cults, they certainly can learn enough not to vote democrat.

Let not your heart be troubled....

I can’t quite recall where...but I read a piece by a gentleman named Jesse Romero. Romero (Catholic Lay Evangelist, jesseromero.com) asserted that Catholics almost HAD to vote Republican for some of the reasons stated in your referenced article.

There are Hispanics who get it...Romero does.

The only reason why we're losing the Hispanic vote is because we're against illegal immigration.

Then you should move to LA, so you can better understand why we are not all that enthused to have no border.

There is no way to deport them all or coerce enough of them to self-deport in numbers that would make any real difference.

You are dead wrong on that issue, look what is happening in Oklahoma.

....look what is happening in Oklahoma.

What is happening there? Please elaborate.

The fastest growing segment of the US population is the Hispanic group. The republicans would do well to begin working with this group to find young leaders in this demographic.
Republican National Hispanic Assembly
here is a fun video on what it means to be a Republican from their site: “My fellow immigrants...my fellow Americans...how do you know if you are a Republican...I will tell you how...if you believe the government should be accountable to the people, not the people to the government...then you are a Republican.

I don’t know what is going on in Oklahoma. But, the population of Oklahoma is roughly equal to that of the city of Los Angeles. (L.A. County is much more populous as it includes the cities of Burbank, Pasadena, Long Beach, etc.) Plus, OK is a more homogeneous population than in L.A. Therefore, whatever deportations (self or otherwise)are going on in OK is so small in terms of the overall problem that it cannot be used as an example of what can can be achieved nationwide.

Deporting 12 million or getting them to leave would be the same as trying to remove every person in OK, MO and KS. That’s not going to happen. We’d better find an acceptable solution to this problem, such as a path to residency, not citizenship.

The current level of illegal immigration took decades to build up to where it is. It may take that much time to get the numbers back down to where they were. Legalization will only make the problem permanent. There will be no going back after that.

How? By appealing to the Golden State's fastest-growing demographic group, Hispanics.

Could someone tell specifically me how we do this?

What the hell are we all supposed to do?

Is the author suggesting we make all the Mexican illegals, legal?

How are we supposed to "Appeal" to them? Are we not talking about legal American citizens here, that we are suppose to "appeal" to?

Are we supposed to give them gifts? What is it??

That’s not going to happen.

Why not? There are ways to do this over a period of time. There are solutions, none of which have been enacted. We all know why.

That’s not going to happen.

That may be the case, but that does not preclude the possibility that it could be done if we wanted to do it.

Look at Dwight Eisenhower's policy.

The toughest illegal alien laws in the country. As opposed to New Mexico, where the Supreme Court has ruled the the term "Illegal Alien" can not even be used n court. Good grief people, what is going on...........
