If Yellowstone goes up, we all go down. I share your concerns, but realise there is nothing we can do to stop or mitigate that occurrence. :^(

Dude, yeah: with a new Goracle-authored “user fee increase” for any and all human citizens of the world, in spite of how anti-evolutionary that would be, starting with the U.S. as the pilot program.

Tsunami warning lifted after major earthquake hits eastern Indonesia; AP is reporting moderate damage but no reports of casualties so far. Thanks for small mercies, Lord.

“I could be wrong, but I think that area of the birds neck is a fairly populated area.”
You are correct - my old stomping grounds back in the 70s - oil exploration.
The Dutch developed the area prior to WWII.
Babo - town and airfield - just south of ground zero on the south side of the large inlet bay was an important Japanese airfield.
Very rough country - but beautiful and yes populated mostly along the shore in this area.

I put a “sorry” in with the message, but I enclosed it in angle-brackets. I guess the html editor didn’t know what to do with the brackets.

Actually, it is now called “Papua”. It was renamed around 2001. Has something to do with so-called autonomy.

There have been a fair number of small ones in the Missouri/Arkansas area over the last few months. There was even a fairly rare one in the DFW area.

The area where this quake struck is mainly Christian. There have been efforts by the national government to relocate moslems into Papua, but the majority of the citizens have a Christian tradition.
