No sense in worrying about things I have no control over. Like naturally occurring volcanoes, and Global warming.

My favorite comment on site:

Flash wrote on Jan 7, 2009 12:56 PM: " This has been all over Fox News. The Yellowstone caldera blows every 600,000 years, give or take a couple days. It has been 640,000 years since the last eruption, so we are way overdue and living on borrowed time. Either hunker down and say your prayers, pack up and get at least 2000 miles away, or wait until next Tuesday afternoon and all will be fine. "

After voting and later seeing the results, I realized I had no control over anything. :-(

This is from the Star-and-Sickle, which is declaring bankruptcy, right?

They're just hoping that a mega-eruption will allow them to keep publishing their rag /sarc>

Cheers!

I’ve been to Vladivostok. I’d rather suffer right here in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

I’ve been following the seismic activity in Y for a couple of weeks now. Also, some harmonic tremors have been picked up on the Yellowstone seismos. (indicative of magma or hydrothermal movement) It seems to lie dormant for a couple of days and then pick back up. Who knows? Not a darn thing we can do about it.

This is really starting to worry me. I know there has been activity there for years, but it’s increasing like labor pains (not a biblical reference, just a reference intensity).

Does anyone think this could really be ready to go?

And if it does, could it be a minor eruption? Is that possible? Just a small (big of course, but not like nuclear winter big) eruption that is more local than over half the country?

"Darn, won't that put a damper on the messiah’s inauguration?"

"George Bush's final act of defiance."

Said God - hey, what are you looking at me for? Obama's minister said "God Damn America." So I waited to see what the people would do. And they elected Obama! So - HERE GOES - LOOK OUT BELOW!

Get hold of a topo map and have a good look at the divot that is NW Wyoming. That dent burps and it'll be raining buffalumps in Manhattan.

As for 0bambi, picture him post-eruption in his brand-spanking new Rocky Boots, Levis, Carhart chore coat, Stetson, and Mulehide work gloves doing the obligatory walk-through for the MSM photo op.

Yaaaaaaaaa. Talk about your “Katrina moment?” lol

It goes every half million years. Odds are we will go before it.

Um.. there will be no black hills... only black dust piles about 100 meters deep.

So, what would be the ideal Doomsday vehicle for such a Mad Max scenario?

Yellow Stone was one of the must see places for me in this life time. My husband and I visited and just loved the place. The boiling pots, buffalo, eagles, geysers and boiling mud pots. OMG it was wonderful. I will never forget it. I hope it is not at the end of it's existence but if it is, I will remember every detail in color. I can't forget.
