People here forget that Obama didn't become president in good times and it went downhill only on Inauguration Day.

He came in in bad times and people like the idea “he is doing something.”

Carter was elected because, partially, of the recession of 1976 and was much more popular at this time than current occupant.

Those of us who live and breathe this stuff each and everyday, plus those “with skin in the game” see what's on the horizon.

Your average voter doesn't have a clue

And Hitler was popular with some Germans up until he did himself in and through all the needless suffering he made them go through.

What have we become? A nation of give me give me give me’s. This whole mess really started with the democrats and our republic will end because of the democrats.””

This country has supported over 45 years of welfare—generations of welfare.

That is the genisis of “give me”... and absolutely no personal responsibility.

This past election was the producers VS the looters.

The Looters won.

I warned a year and a half ago that Obama would be the next Pres. (unless Hillary could win the primaries) based on the observance of many friends who were going starry-eyed over Obama. Very few conservatives here or anywhere agreed with me at the time. Nobody with that little experience could win. Now many are saying that his popularity is going down, that the polls are wrong. Again based on observing the same friends as before, Obama can do no wrong. Conservatives don’t understand the hold this man has over independents and Dems.

I don’t believe Obama is more popular than ever before, either.

It’s still early but it does make you wonder. This guy seems to be a real loser. I just don’t understand Obama’s reaction to the market decline which is clearly caused by all of the goofy tax and policy announcements. To much to soon but I don’t think he cares I just don’t get it.

What does everyone think his approval rating should be? 30%?

Not going to happen with a president who has been in office for 2 months or so

And more than half of all adults say that Republicans in Congress have opposed Mr. Obama's proposals more to gain political advantage, compared with 30% who say Republicans have done so because they are standing up for their principles.

This is the fruits of our "moderate" strategy. Of course Republicans don't have principles. They're all spineless jokes. I could do a better job at explaining conservatism.

The sheeple aren’t ready to admit they’ve made a mistake yet despite the evidence to the contrary.

Maybe they never will be.

If this is actually true and really representative of the majority of folks in this country, we’ve had it.

Who is it representative of? I couldn't find that information in the article. Though the article did say

"..in this case, the boost is being driven by Democrats and other Obama voters who are pleased with the opening weeks of the administration.

so maybe it was only "Democrats and other Obama voters" who were interviewed.

".....even add and subtract or talk with his TelePrompter without falling over his mouth"

Yep! It's an outright insult to say that oscumbo is just like Hitler.

Hitler never needed a teleprompter and never stumbled over trying to string more than three words together.

The real question was the one about support for his policies. That one is sinking fast.

People don't want to look like racists so Obama will have sky high approval numbers right up until he loses in a landslide.

My husband and I went to dinner last night in a Franchise chain restaurant. The place has been so empty so often that the woman who poured her entire life savings and mortgaged herself to the hilt for had to decide to have shorter opening hours until further notice.

The servers who work for her are all kids, mostly under or just at drinking age. We got to discussing Obama and the state of the economy and every one of them are walking on air over BHO. Nothing my husband or the owner or the manager or I could say would daunt their devotion.

Here we sat in an empty restaurant (2 tables taken out of 46), closing 2 hours earlier than normal, talking to a bunch of kids who were going home with MAX $30 in tips and absolutely ecstatic of their glorious Messiah who was going to pay for their college.

When I asked what they were gonna do with their education once they were done with school that someone else was forced to pay for... explaining there would be no jobs and pointing to their current employment as an example since their boss had to cut hours, cut staff and be open less... they were not worried, BHO would take care of it.

Then the restaurant was closed and they went bowling with their daily tips.

< me, shakes head in despair >
