Thanks BBell and neverdem.
In northern Europe, the Little Ice Age kicked off with the Great Famine of 1315. Crops failed due to cold temperatures and incessant rain. Desperate and starving, parents ate their children, and people dug up corpses from graves for food. In jails, inmates instantly set upon new prisoners and ate them alive. The Great Famine was followed by the Black Death, the greatest disaster ever to hit the human race.

Noah Wylie (ER fame) is touting the dire need to save the planet from global warming so the polar bears won’t starve.

There are so many “causes” to champion that the mind boggles at the variety of idiots who jump on the band wagons with their “SKY IS FALLING!” diatribes.

Some (The “Great O” and his minion Al Gorey?) swear that WE (mankind) can turn around a cycle that has been “eventing” since the Earth began to cool.

My take, of course, is this: None of us will get out of this world alive....

(Greenpeace needs to suck up some of the money they spend to go all over the world in “protest.”)

But don’t get me started....

Maybe he’s more afraid of the ice melting and the coasts flooding because he’s named Noah...

Here’s the sad truth....if this happens in 40 years, libs will claim that their success in combating AGW was too successful.

It had nothing to do with it of course. I’m convinced that gubmint, grant junkies and central planners are in a rush to pass legislation because if they don’t and the planet cools they will have a lot of explaining to do. If their policies get implemented they can claim that they averted a disaster.

They won’t be able to, unless CO2 levels have dropped as well. But I don’t think the lag will be close enough for them to claim credit.

My prediction is that with 40 more years of advances in science, the bed-wetter crowd will be viewed as laughingstock — sort of like Luddites. Or hippies.

I hope you are right and that our country isn’t damaged beyond repair by then by the UN ass kissing, one world government socialist utopia crowd before than.

I hope I live to see the day when they are exposed in all their naked glory for the control freak frauds they are.

The last ice age started suddenly about 117 million years ago. And was it caused by a major boloid? 74 million years ago, the temperature took a major dip destroying all but 5 or 10,000 humans. Turns out the cause was a monster volcano called Toba, which left a crater 18 by 65 miles. Then around 18,000 years age things began to warm up until about 13,000 years ago another 1,000 year cold wave hit. Now the thinking is this cold wave and the flash frozen mammoths was also caused by a North American boloid event. Yes the sun does have an impact, but so does major vulcanism, and extra-terresterial impact events. We have no way now of predicting when the next catastrophe will hit us. All we can do is learn how to be prepared and hope it is not too big.

Re Toba, see my comment 31. Also the thousand year cold that interrupted the last warm-up 13 thousand years ago was called the Younger Dryas.

That doesn't jive with the perfectly preserved elephants rhino's emerging from the ice in the arctic with "fresh meat still on them. It suggests that the ice ice started suddenly, but far more recently, around the biblical flood age.

If you read the whole article you will see that he says that there were abrupt temperature swings of 30 degrees F. One, or more, of these could have caused the instant freezing of Rinos and Mammoths.

This guy even know I agree with most of what he says uses the same argument as the global alarmist. That man has a significant effect on the planet.

Better read it again. He says the sun controls the climate, not man. He does say that tampering with the climate through ecological engineering MIGHT add to the ice age, but he does state that the sun controls it, not man.

It won't take 40 years if we have another ice age. The little ice age started in one summer, abruptly and immediately, destroying that year's crops and devastating Europe, other parts of the world were not as affected as EU and North America but populations dropped dramatically in EU due to starvation.

However, I am sure the idiots will try to grab credit for it but it won't wash, the survivors will know they were sh** on by the politicians.

Cloud cover doesn’t cause glaciation. Cooling (alone) doesn’t cause glaciation.

More like 74 thousand years ago. Humans weren't around 74 million years ago. :)
