My guess ... New Hampshire

Further south... Pennsylvania. Bright and sunny today, but never got much beyond 70 degrees. Just checked my trusty back porch thermometor.. at 11 pm, reading 55 degrees and heading south.

Partly my fault. Had new siding put on this year so the tomatos didn't get in until June. Right now, I have lots of fruit, but none close to ripe yet. For the past 20 years, with just a half dozen plants, I'm swamped in tomatos by now. Might not get any this year.

Didn’t they have a sunspot that was opposite polarity to cycle 23 recently, and they promptly declared cycle 24 had begun?

Someone said they thought that a new sunspot would be Cycle 24 polarity, but I think it turned out to be another Cycle 23 sunspot.

Just in time for the Solstice.

That pimple ought to reduce heating oil bills in northern states fractionally. However, if Congress passes Cap and Trade soon enough, we'll all be back on the road to market increases and exorbitant pricing.

I always believed Global Warming would pay off despite the contrary scientific evidence so I'm investing in space heaters and Sterno!

Ah, very good. Hard to keep up these days.

I love it when someone quotes the Bard.

This was a cycle 24 spot (not much of one). One theory being posited on the solarcycle24.com message board is that since the latitude of this spot was so low, it may indicate that SC24 has reached its maximum - in effect SC24 is a no show. In that case, solar watchers will be looking for signs of SC25 activity. Also, if that theory is true, then we are in for long stretch of reduced solar activity.

Didn’t we have this same sort of maybe spot or maybe not last year at about this same time?
