Mutations happen, with some adding life enhancing value to lucky recipients.

Most of the time, however, mutations point recipients to extinction.

I just don't get why people get so worked up over evolution, or demanding that creationism be taught in schools.

I would prefer to teach my children about God, it's none of the schools business.

The guys who do genetics with fruit flies are big jokers.

They discovered a gene that, when mutated, made a fruit fly all bristly like a hedgehog, so they named it “hedgehog”.

When they found a related gene, they named it “sonic hedgehog” after the game.

They found a gene and called it Decapentaplegic. When they discovered a gene whose protein inhibited Decapentaplegic they named it “Mothers Against Decapentaplegic”.

There is also the “INDY” gene that inhibits cell death. Named for a Monty Python skit in “The Holy Grail” where the guy carried out to the “Bring out your dead” wagon says “I'm not dead yet.”. INDY = I'm not dead yet.

Biologists as a rule like to joke around with names. A guy named Southern came up with a technique for seeing DNA, so it was called a “Southern blot”. When they came up with a technique for RNA, they called it a “Norther blot”. Protein is detected on a “Western blot”.

So please, try again. The poster asked for proof that these things you claimed have already been done, and you posted three current articles that say they haven't done them yet.

Thanks, Charles. You saved me some reading time.

I thought there would be news stories with pictorial documentation featured if there were actually chickens produced with raptor features. I would certainly like to see them.

I'm not sure that merely learning to operate some controls of a complex system would necessarily indicate a fundamental understanding of that system or its purpose.

It would definitely prove that some outcomes are the result of Intelligent Design.

If you had a basic understanding of science you would know that you cannot “prove” A scientific theory

Says the big man in the echo chamber. Too bad you lack the confidence to support your assertions outside of this echo chamber surrounded by your cheerleaders.

Everyone saw the myriad of excuses you presented when provided the opportunity

Talk is cheap.

I’m not sure I’d like to reverse engineer chickens.

Might end up producing clones of the current members of our government.

Didn’t they already produce some ‘featherless’ chickens?

Funny, how do you search a PDF that’s unsearchable, based on it’s age?Guess you have a funny way of “telling the truth” when responding to posts...

I’m not sure I’d like to reverse engineer chickens.

If you reverse engineered chickens, wouldn't you just get an egg?

Blah, blah, blah. I’m still not sure why you feel you have to go to those filthy, and perverted, and hugely inferior websites to get your Temple of Darwin talking points across. What evo-religious faith statements are you prevented from making on FR that you can only make over at the lesser site?

What assertions are you unable to make outside of this echo chamber?

If your are able to destroy the temple of Darwin, would you first not have to enter it?

Then again you are safe to spew you old refuted many times over arguments on FR surrounded by your cheerleaders with no fear of actually having to defend them.

Talk is cheap, and everybody can see right through your excuses.

I have no idea what arguments I can and cannot make over at that sleazy and quite inferior website you identify with the crumbling Temple of Darwin. But if I can post my Creation and ID articles and links over there without fear of them getting pulled, you never know, I may just mosey on over there from time to time :o)

The rules on posting articles are little stricter, however you are free to comment on any article that is posted. I will send you a link the next time one that would interest you is there.

Now you will actually have to defend your assertions against professionals within various scientific disciplines so I would advise you to bring your “A” game, and update your old refuted many times over talking points if you wish to last more that 2 or 3 post without being exposed.

If you pay close attention you might even see the law of unintended consequences playing itself out in respect to your spam postings here on FR. ;-)

Not interested. I’m only interested in sites that let me post my Creation/ID papers and articles without fear of having them pulled. Find a site like that, and I may just turn up. I’m not interested in sites that give the Temple of Darwin a monopoly over the debate.

More excuses, you can only go on a site where you are big man in the echo chamber.

It appears that you have some serious control issues. You do know that is a sign of insecurity?

So if you cannot control the debate you lack the skills to prevail?

You do not believe that you could destroy a temple of Darwin assertion?

You are able to debate via your posting regarding the article and you are free to link any rebuttal sites in your posting. There are no monopolies in the debate. There are many anti-science advocates who post on a regular basis. In fact there is much more freedom to disagree, and present your argument then there is here on FR.

It is just if you do not bring your “A” game, and have facts to support your assertions you will look like a fool very quickly. My guess is that you are not up to the challenge and would be exposed within 2 or 3 posts at the most. But hey prove me wrong.

I find it very telling that I am able to post on more than one site, and yet you are to afraid to venture outside your echo chamber and not be surrounded by your cheerleaders.
I wonder why that is?

So far the only thing you have shown is that talk is cheap.

I just don’t understand why you came into a thread discussing whether reverse-engineering a chicken would prove evolution, just to say evolution doesn’t effect your faith.

Certainly you know that there are many people who do get worked up over evolution, whether you understand why or not.

But you should also understand the desire to discuss the issue, even if you have no interest in the discussion.

I would love to remove the entire discussion of the mythology of origins from the science classroom.

Thanks, that was interesting.

Does “Zone of Polarizing Activity” also have a humorous background? Probably not, or you would have mentioned it.
