1) The world has NEVER been so peaceful as it is today, particularly on a per-capita basis. There currently is no inter-state war going on (war between sovereign countries), something which is almost unheard of in history. Many bloody civil wars have recently ended or declined in violence. There has been a fairly steady overall decline in both numbers of wars, and total war deaths, since World War II; this decline got even more pronounced during the W Administration. 2) Even taking into account all of the earthquakes of the past few days, we're still on-pace worldwide to have an AVERAGE number of large earthquakes in 2009; there have been a below-average number of large earthquakes in most of the last ten years.

Liberals have declared an economic and spiritual war against US in their name of sacrifice. Christians are told to suit up for a 'war' not of flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

There is nothing these that make their so called false peace arrangements can do to prevent an earthquake. And so long as this earth continues to quake and shake is a sign we have not reached an end of this flesh age. And some of these nations working toward their global peace do not seem to pay attention to potential quaking of this earth when they burrow down under the earth's surface to build their weapons of mass destruction. And no I am not predicting anything just a casual observation of the minds of these that are in high places filled will spiritual wickedness.

It did make me wonder that also. I believe we are having our own earthquake, it's an economic earthquake. We got the king many wanted, and he was allowed into power by God. We maybe a Christian nation, but, in many cases and in many ways, we have fallen far away from God. His hand of protection is not on us like it use to be. I also know that God has a heart for the lost. I was praying last night that they would cry out to Him. And that my brothers and sisters in Christ would be protected and a light among the people. They would see miracles among themselves. Christians are persecuted pretty badly there. I've also asked God to give them favor among there people.

It appears they had another one in the night 6.6. I'd say except for God's grace and mercy, California hasn't seen the same type of thing happen.

According to scripture, Strategerist is correct. in Luke 21, Jesus explains to his disciples that many events will take place before the end times. The disciples were greatly concerned when Jesus explained the temple they were admiring would be destroyed shortly. He then warns the actual end "will not come right away". We will hear of wars and earthquakes but these are not the signs.

Luke 21 "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them. 9When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away."

10Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

Further in Luke 21, Jesus describes the signs of the end

25"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."

Jesus tells us that the "heavenly bodies will be shaken" and the "roaring and tossing of the sea" sounds more violent than a tsunami.

Further Revelation does not describe many earthquakes. It describes one massive quake

16:18Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.

Taken together, Jesus is saying that the wars and earthquakes are normal events and not events pointing to the end times.

Jesus ends this discussion with a warning that places his description of events to come in context. Also keep in mind that Jesus also told his disciples that His Father has not revealed to Him when the end will come. In context Jesus refocuses his disciples on the lesson he is teaching them.

Luke21:36Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

We will be challenged by the world's events and we will stand before the Son of Man. We must always be on watch and in prayer that all we do is within what the Lord God's will so that when we stand before Him we can receive the words "well done my faithful son".

P.S.

Keep in mind that they expected a messiah that would deliver then from wars and natural disasters. Jesus just let them know that this was not the case. This would have been a good time for them to abandon Jesus if he could not save them from these things. Heck, even the Greek and Roman God's claimed better control over future events. Why didn't they leave and follow another messiah who claimed more and better control over the world events?

To me the biggest indicator is the destruction of Damascus.
When I see that then I think it is way way to close!! Damascus has never ever been destroyed. He said when that happens to look up for our redemption draweth nigh.

We were told to be ever watchful...not to be caught off guard to watch and know like we know the changeing of the seasons. We also know how a woman in labor goes...starts out slow and intensifies. All these things we are to watch for. No it isn’t easy and yes it gets tiresome but we try to do as we were told.
The other thing I think will happen...God’s people will feel anguish, great grief over the condition of the world. I think we will feel God’s pain over what He sees. Maybe I’m wrong..if I am...I’m sure someone will let me know!! roflol!!

I didn’t mean it flippantly. It’s just a bit scary how long it has been since a major Earthquake actually hitting a major area out there.

As for tornadoes, there really aren’t that many and most hit open fields. That’s what basements are for anyway, and luckily Kansas has them.

I now live in Texas, at least for a few years. There aren’t many basements here, so luckily there aren’t as many tornadoes out here in the western part of the state!
