This is no America we recognize.

it’s sad to admit, but I think you are right. I find myself at times, feeling detached, like I just want to get out.

Cao should be kicked out of the Republican caucus and be denied any support from the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Bobby Jindal loves Mr. Cao and if Jindal supports Cao then Mr. Jindal should have some explaining to do.

There are no excuses for what Cao did.

But rather than get totally angry at Cao I am rather saddened.

How can a man of Vietnamese ancestry vote to make America a less free nation and more like the now Communist country he came from?

Watch what the markets do on Monday. If possible, divest from all American companies and lay-off workers.

Yep. The Senate may not take it up til next year. Senate Democrats haven't even written up their own bill. And to win over the moderates, it will have to be scaled down considerably. That's why the Senate exists as a check on rashness on the part of the people's house to give a chance to sober reflection. The minority has rights in the Senate they don't have in the House.

I agree with you. Our founders risked their lives, their honor, and their fortunes for freedom. We cannot let it slip through our hands like this.

These Dems are so gleeful it’s disgusting!

Why is Fox News continuing to cover this debacle?

Pelosi is sickening; just vile. Suddenly I want to move to Mexico until she is gone from politics. The congress did not listen to the American people. A very sad day, indeed.

Yeah, he probably said that but the real point is not that they voted themselves out of office as if they quit their jobs, the point should have been made they did a complete diservice to those they were sent to represent.

It is late and I am off to sleep. Remember this quote: a little revolution every once in a while is a good thing. 200 years sounds just about right.

Pleasant dreams all.

So Mr. Cao likes CommieCare?

Then revoke his citizenship and DEPORT his FOREIGN ASS back to Commie Vietnam.

And why hasn’t Soros Citizenship been revoked?

Even though Snowe isn’t up in 2010, perhaps she’ll be looking ahead to 2012 and do the right thing. For once.
(That was my point, anyway).

You’re correct. And if the 80yr old person has a cancer that would benefit from radiation, forget about it. Morphine drip. It’s much cheaper (sarcasm)

My Rep voted NO as I live in a Conservative district of Oklahoma — in fact our delegation including the Democrat voted NO. Our Dem voted how his district told him to vote.

In this case, Coa of LA voted for how his welfare constituents wanted him to vote. Considering his vote was very late, I don’t think he would have voted YES if it would have made the difference.

This is what Pelosi does — releases moderates to vote with Conservatives after she gets her needed votes.

We probably the same for a guy from a welfare district of LA. He is elected to vote for his district.

Shame some of here don’t have the same venom for the Blue Dogs that voted AGAINST their district as you do for Cao who voted for his district.

only, at best, 58 votes for cloture

What about the supposed option to do it on a straight majority vote ?
If that truly is an option why wouldn't they take it ?

Cao (a.k.a. "Gow") notwithstanding, the G.O.P. did as well as they possibly could...I saw the start of this farce on C-Span this a.m., and I've never seen anything like it.

Elections surely do have consequences! Boehner (from my state) and Eric Cantor/VA (I think he's minority whip?) and a bunch of other Rep.'s were tenacious as heck, but you can't stop the House Majority freight train, especially when the Prez himself is up there breaking arms...

I hope Pelosi et. al. are very proud of their stunning 3-vote victory, with 39 defections...I'm LMAO at this press conference with them right now - they're not getting much screaming adulation, applause, etc., and in fact, it's darn quiet...

That won't last long, either, them congratulating each other and making speeches about how wonderful they are (kissing Pelosi's ring, too - LOL!) - when real people of all stripes find out what's actually in this plan, they're not going to be happy campers!!

Kudos to the dissenting Democrats - you don't have to be conservative to recognize a sh*t sandwich when you see one!!
