Further down the coast, flatter. There are several large hotels there they can go to. I stayed in the Hilton in 1964 i believe it was.

Piarco is somewhat inland. I hope they’ll be alright. I pray for their safety...

Yeah, something like 10-15 miles from Port-au-Spain.

I’m pretty confident they’ll be okay.

Which island had the volcano with the big pyroclastic flow that killed everyone except for some prisoner in a dungeon? I remember reading a book about it in 5th grade. Was it Mt. Pelée or Soufrière?

You can FULLY expect Obama to use

It was Mt. Pelee, which is on Martinique.

Praying for her. She’ll be okay at that altitude. Just pray for her to get out safely if she has to escape from down below.

Thanks.

Apparently no tsunamis of significance have resulted.

Thanks. It was reading books like that about Pelee and the sinking of the Titanic that got my 5th grade teacher to tell my parents that I read too much, well, that and correcting her on mummification versus fossilization after she told the class that mummies turned to stone from sitting around so long.

We’re safe in San Juan. I was in traffic when it hit so I didn’t feel a thing and I haven’t heard any reports that it was felt here at all.

The seas remain the same.

On the other hand, there have been several small tremors in our area over the past week.

I pray for the people of Haiti. I’ve flown in and out of PaP several times and these people do not need this.
