Hispanics are a majority here in AZ. I work with more Hispanics than anyone else and those who were born here or are here legally want this law. How can the majority be profiled? If they have forty people in a van, maybe there is a problem.

Actually...no.

The Supreme Court has already decided that it is legal for police to stop anyone and request valid identification.

Before the law: No fear of arrest. After the law: Fear of arrest

And fear of arrest often translates to self-deportation.

Did you see this...

he's afraid he'll be arrested anyway if police see him driving around with friends and relatives, some of them illegal immigrants.

"Hispanics fear profiling under new Arizona law"

Ya, and I fear getting a speeding ticket every time I speed. It's illegal and I deserve the damn thing if I get one!

If I don't speed, I don't have to worry!!!!!!

I wonder if all those who don’t think it’s a big deal that we have so many illegal immigrants would like to take their chances with entering Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic or Mexico ILLEGALLY and see how the dim view those countries take on entering their country without going through the proper channels.

I bet they may change their position after a few hours of dealing with either the Mounties or Montezuma’s revenge...

But the 18-year-old said he's afraid he'll be arrested anyway if police see him driving around with friends and relatives, some of them illegal immigrants.

Well, the young man is in violation of Federal law. The only reason he isn't stopped and busted is because the BP doesn't do routine traffic stops.

Now, if he commits a traffic violation and the Phoenix cop suspects his passengers are illegal; they can all be busted as they should be.

See how neatly that works?

OBTW......ping!

Arodi Berrelleza isn't one of the targets of Arizona's new law cracking down on illegal immigration - he's a U.S. citizen, a high school student from Phoenix.

But the 18-year-old said he's afraid he'll be arrested anyway if police see him driving around with friends and relatives, some of them illegal immigrants.

Arodi is also an accessory after the fact, but he still can avoid arrest by:

1) Dropping a dime on his criminal friends and family, for ALL their illegal activity.

2) Going to Mexico himself.

3) Sending his illegal friends and family back to Mexico to get in line.

He might have a piece of paper that says he’s a citizen but he is certainly not an American at heart.

There is a far greater chance he will die as a result of hanging around with his criminal illegal pals than of being arrested because of his skin tone.

And in other SW states during Operation Wetback (1954).

"Around 488,000 illegal immigrants are claimed to have left voluntarily for fear of being apprehended. By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and the INS estimates that 500,000 to 700,000 had left Texas on their own."

“They’re going to be asking them if they have papers because of the color of their skin.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t cops always ask for identification?

Does Mingo and Admiral (the traffic circle) in Tulsa still look like little Mexico?

Well, obviously he isn’t one that is opposed to illegals because he hangs out with them.

Need to pass this in other states. Feds won’t enforce the laws on the books.

Feds stand down order on the border is to change the demographics of the United States.
