Ditto. Just did some checking and didn’t see this. The darn thing almost goes past my house.

The New Madrid Fault is near the place where Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, and Arkansas meet.

I don’t think so. The New Madrid fault is centered around the boot-heel of Missouri.

"Found this. Looks like the New Madrid fault zone extends a lot further than I thought. " Excellent...Me too.

I’m in suburban Detroit. My daughter felt it. She was up on her bed though. I was cooking in the kitchen and did not feel it at all.:-( 5.5 is big for us!

Wow, I never knew the New Madrid Fault line ran that far. The main seismic zone is near New Madrid, MO, however.

lol, I was in an old house in LA once and the whole thing started moving lengthwise, there was another family in the front part, and as I’m looking at the garage sliding, I was thinking “Whatever is that woman doing over there?”

I've heard a lot of people who are screwing around report they felt the earth move. The cause and effect are often related. (mea culpa) I just couldn't resist.

Yes, it sure does extend farther than we thought.
No wonder the New Madrid quake was felt as far away as Boston, when it actually caused church bells to ring there in the early 1800s.
Activity on this fault, is cause for concern IMO.
My phone shows today’s quake at 5.5.

Wow...thanks. I grew up near the New Madrid fault...I had no idea it extended this far. First I’ve heard of it.

I really wish you didn’t post that picture. The center red line on that runs exactly through my property, no kidding.

I’ve often wondered if the “big one” hits whether I’ll finally get to live on beachfront property. P A R T Y!!!!
To: Dan Nunn
It’s because of the oil spill.

Why can’t a big quake hit DC....right where the capital building and white house sits...?
