Patterson, Bloomberg, Obama and all their ilk can spin it any way they want, but allowing the mosque is a victory for the militant Islamist fundamentalists and their twisted fatwas and sick jihads. I prefer they have zero victories and infinite defeats.

New Yorkers are very liberal and keep electing these stupid commies.

This statement reflects the general ignorance of many americans. Those who live in large cities, be it in NY or GA, tend to vote democratic. Consider the number of people who reside in the City of New York and you will gain a better understanding of how electoral votes shift democratic. Outside the large cities, the majority of New Yorkers are conservative.
