Oh Noez, global warming is shortening our lifespans. We’ll have to redo all our calendars and what about all those watches and clocks? Oh the humanity.
Based on the posts here, it seems people either didn’t read the article, or have very poor reading comprehension skills.
They are undoubtedly hoping and praying that all that spare ice just sublimated away ~ BTW, there's no sign that the ice MELTED this winter ~ like it has been cold there anyway.
Normally on a hot summer's day (6 months from now) they have enough moss to send the dogs out for a run, but otherwise this is a very desolate place way up at the end of nowhere!

Yea I finally read all the way down the page. I would be thrilled too and not complain. I’m all for global warming(yes I know it’s not man made). Maybe our winters wouldn’t go from nov. to april with 250+/- inches of snow a year.

I’m with you, fella! Tampa International Airport recently had to change their runway designations due to a shift in the magnetic north. If there’s even a 1 degree shift, there will be drastic changes in global activities (see Australia).

Idiots. The weather has nothing to do with when the sun rises. Haven’t any of these fools taken a basic earth science or astronomy course? And they call Sarah Palin dumb! Wow.
As you can see, the local area is rocky. Changes in ice elevation would not change the day in which the first sunrise is observed. I offer two other possibilities:
1. The reference point, from which sunrise is determined, was moved. This is the most likely explanation for the sudden change.
2. There was a minor change in the elevation of the local earth's crust. I'm not familiar with the tectonics of the town.

Actually, it is. There are 47 peaks in the NH White Mountains that are 4000' or higher. About 30 years ago, there were 46 of them. What happened? Well, one "grew". The only surprising thing here, completely unexpected the the present day vernacular, is why (or when?) do the Warmists not claim that AGW is responsible for making the peaks rise in New Hampshire?

This is obviously caused by shift in horoscopes that was announced yesterday. It’s so simple really.
