Sounds like you've thought it through and keep things cozy - all things considered!

So far this morning, things look pretty calm and most of the ugly stuff on the radar is north of us. The kids will have to go to school as scheduled and take their mid-terms. Later in the day I suspect it will be deteriorating.

I ask them how long their cell will work without power to recharge.

Recharge it in your vehicle.

In an emergency that long term, I wouldn't bet on a landline, either. Phone lines can go down like electric lines. Long term, I would have extra fuel for the vehicles.

Yes.

People are "just in case" buying.

Most people will be out and about inside of two days and they know it but "just in case!"

We are being dug out today. No need to go to the store as we keep things stocked up but it does tell you where people's priorities lie.

Eggs, milk and TP!
