Anybody kn0w what ever happened to that boat?Look at this poor guy in a boat that is essentially being flushed into the town with all the cars and debris. It would be a miracle if he lived through it. It's at about :18 into the video center screen. He has on an orange jacket. Street level video of tsunami Japan
As for me? I'd curl up in a ball, close my eyes and say "Hello, God. I'm home."

I was reading about Old Sow the other day. There’s a freshwater river output and the mix between salt and fresh is the catalyst and bathymetry defines the location.

Based on eye-witness accounts and video in recent years, whirlpools probably occur with some regularity after large tsunamis, said Ruth Ludwin, a retired seismologist at the University of Washington in Seattle. Globull warmers woder why we lose faith in the science of today. I wonder if that opinion is peer reviewed.

There is a harbor in Maine where this phenomenon regularly occurs. They are rather large, and can drag down good size lobster boats in seconds. The name of the harbor escapes me at this moment.

Here's the
BBC version of the video that I've already cited. At 0:32 you get the same view of the western sea wall, and I think the whirlpool was formed in the center of the harbor by a strong ebb current running along this wall. The eastern sea wall closes with the western to form the harbor entrance, leaving the center of the harbor enclosed.
The commentary is absolutely inane. Note that he works global warming into it.

I wonder what everyone would have thought if it had triggered an enormous Maytag?

That is exactly what happened. Friggin news media hype. Ebb and flow of the friggin tsunami water against a break wall.
To: US_MilitaryRules
And it is exacerbated visually with all the foam and debris in the water.
