You know, it all depends on how you interpret the words ‘dead spot’. Very similar to the interpretation of ‘sunspot’.
The ‘sunspot’ is a result of plasma-physics and is, in a sense, a ‘dead spot’ because it is due to some kind of collapse or bursting of the photosphere, releasing (or responding to?) large streams of electro-magnetic energy, along with emissions all over the spectrum.
Best part is, I stole it from someone around here, Ya-ha!!!!
