I saw one clip (in the middle of the night? ? Very late, I should have been asleep) of a guy who was doing extreme couponing specifically to get items that could be used in care packages to send overseas to the troops. That was good to see. Not like the ones who have 65 bottles of mustard. I mean, who needs a 30 year supply of mustard?

My Mother-in-law was a big couponer back in the day. Italian lady who grew up poor and had 9 kids to feed. After the kids grew up and moved out she couldn’t stop her couponing and over-buying habits. I asked her once if she was really saving any money if she ended up having to throw stuff out. She looked at me with a blank look on her face like why would she ever have to throw anything out? We had to trash a whole huge chest feezer full of food that had spoiled (FREEZER!) because she never used it much less rotated it. You have to be very diligent about storing, rotating and using your stock. My husband & I are just getting started with stocking up canned goods (the collapse is coming you know!) and are finding it can be time consuming. Kudos to you on your good deals!

I recently reduced my canned tuna and salmon by about two-thirds but now I’m thinking I might need to increase it a bit due to the coming of hurricane season. However, I would like to add canned meat. During one hurricane I had several dozen cans of octopus meat (plus a bottle of rum) to see me thru.

I don’t know why this caught my eye, but freeze it. Cream Cheese stacks well and freezes for up to 6 months in package with no issues. It’ll be cheese cake in November!

Since I use about 2 bottles per week
That's a heck of a lot of BBQing isn't it? Just sayin'.
From the show I saw, what stuck in my mind was 40 or 50 bottles of mustard.
If I was growing up in that house, I'd be sick of mustard by the time I was six. Plus, sick of living in a warehouse.

Um...most of the cooking of meat I do is roasting. And I need marinade for that or the meat doesn't taste the way I like. I like to soak it for about an hour at least. Definitely need to marinate pork ribs too. Remember that is marinade, NOT barbeque sauce which I don't care for much.

As to mustard, I only have three bottles of that stuff on hand. When I am down to about one bottle, I'll get a couple more FREE via coupons. That is an EASY task.
