Recently Nina asked "If his name weren't Weiner, would we still be talking about him?" Well, actually, Anthony Weiner who proclaimed that all his life people made fun of his name is the one responsible for creating more of a laughing stock about it than anyone else could have. By taking a picture of his private part, posting and sending that/those pictures, he subjected himself to the consequences.
However, there is a more serious issue here and as a woman, liberal, and a person who, I hope, has espoused the idea that women should be respected, how can Nina...or any woman...not be offended and disgusted by Weiner's acts? Let me explain:
Liberated women claim that they DO NOT WANT TO BE CONSIDERED AS JUST SEXUAL OBJECTS. Yet, in the case of Weiner-- Liberal Democrat women have, and some still do, defended this man who did nothing but use women as sexual objects.
His cyber relationships were for nothing but his own sexual excitement. He talked in ways to arouse himself sexually and by doing so demeaned the woman with sexually suggestive comments--using their responses to achieve his own sexual thrill. How can Nina overlook this important sign of what Weiner really thought of women? Obviously he felt they were nothing more than objects for his own pleasure. He was not drawn to contact them for their intelligence.
How any woman, who values womanhood, herself, and the idea that women should be more than an object for sex continue to support him? How can they in any way... speak on behalf of this man?
This man is the typical low dwelling sexual predator hiding beneath that DC suave and expensive suit. This man is the typical abuser of women that women have, for the past 40 years, claimed that disgusts them. The women's movement has tried for years to dispel men from lusting after women only for their bodies and tried to convince men that women are worth more than being used just for sex. Yet still we have Dems/Libs like you, Pelosi, Babara Walters and her co-horts on the View who have not stood up and SCREAMED about how anti-woman this man has behaved!!!
I don't care about his politics or what political party he belongs to. The issue is that what he did is a slap in the face of women and womanhood.. It makes me sick that any woman, and particularly the Liberal women are so ready to defend him simply because he is a Democrat that they will throw in the trash 40 years of women's' efforts to be recognized for more than a good piece of arse, or...as in Weiner's case...a stimulant to use for his masturbation desires.

Totally partisan. She doesn’t seem to know Weiner sent a naked photo, but immediately switches tactics to defend him.
I have no respect for people like this. I actually discussed this situation with a liberal family member, and she was disgusted by it. As she should be.
All this said, I would like to see Weinergate wind down, because it’s taking the spotlight off other important issues. It’s wagging the dog.
