Canuck conservative - we take for granted the freedom we have enjoyed. Very few on earth have had what we have. We are being put to the test now. I am going to order this book. It’s time for us all to WAKE UP as you are now. Nothing is handed to us on a silver platter like we assumed freedom is.
Because God gave us complete freedom of choice. How would we grow and mature as humans if God chose everything for us? Our leaders, whom we married, where we lived, what car we drove, etc etc. - where would be the challenges to overcome?
While there are some things I wish that God would do for us, I’m glad he was loving enough to let us choose our own way in life.
2 Thessalonians 2
The Man of Lawlessness
1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

That’s not very Christian of you to verbally attack and chastise a person who only asked a question, is it?
Jesus was treated unjustly by men on this earth, he was brutally killed. Why do you expect justice here on earth?

Why?
God gave us all free will. He is not responsible for all the decisions made by people. And although He will sometimes intervene in a situation, He is under no obligation to do so.

May I add that this question is one that has been asked for generations and generations. There are dark periods in our lives. Some VERY dark. We lose innocent children, families, jobs, etc... and then we wonder. We wonder if God is testing us or if He isn’t just allowing the world to do what it wants. I think it is a normal process in our faith. As humans, we have to question what faith is really about in order to have it. It is an evolving process and not automatic like eye color, for example. I personally don’t know too many people who haven’t questioned “Does God dislike me” when dealing with extreme situations and sadness. IMHO
Why?
Because we are ALL sinners. The only one without sin was Jesus. It is through his grace that we, as believers, are saved from eternity in Hell.

Because God makes His decisions based on eternity not the temporal world in which we live. Sometimes what goes on down here doesn’t make sense to us because we can’t see the beginning and the end of each person’s life. God is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. We’re not. In the long term, no one will get away with anything. That’s perfect justice.
The only thing Satan creates are lies.
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
And liberalism descends from that first lie: "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
In this sense we are all liberals, because we believe in that first lie:
Romans 3
9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
So true, but that does raise a whole bunch of philosophical questions in the minds of many.
When were you ever given the opportunity to hear and believe the serpent's enticement to Eve? I really really do not get this notion or theory that anyone other than Eve fell for this lie? Now, that is NOT to say that very same 'spirit' is NOT rampant throughout the world of liberalism, which in literal terms is that man/woman in flesh bodies believe they can do things 'better', than God's Holy Way. That in the most simplest terms means against Christ.

Excellent theology, but you might be over-parsing and under-valuing.
Modern liberals are racist, sexist, condescending megalomaniacs. They sacrifice principle on the altar of expediency.
Sound like the father of lies to you? It does to me.
That's because the Truth was already created. Besides, in my experience, that's also the only thing liberals create.
