Then again they've already started pushing the 'we're running out of water and we're all gonna die" thing. That should be fun - another 20 years wasted having to debunk one more massive liberal elite scare story (lie).

I think "acid oceans" may be the next scam. National Geographic took it out for a test run recently, in an issue that noticeably lacked the warmista hysteria of the past several years.

The reason they pushed Global Warming was to increase regulation and taxes. That’s the same reason they push any so-called science.

We do better with SWAGS* than any university research.

*scientific wild-assed guesses

al gore would still be blaming the ice age on global warming

too late. Already is.

All of this year's snow was because of global warming putting more moisture in the atmosphere. Heck, CA is still getting dumped on, in June.

And, I could buy this theory. Except that precip would be falling as rain, not snow. :-)

I’ve been saying that ever since Gore brought this crap up that cooling was going to happen before warming. I just hope that it isn’t a true ice age - but it very well could be. We are well past due for one if looking at the past cycles is any indication.

It doesn't have to be an Ice Age to cause tremendous disruptions. For example, another Maunder Minimum would significantly reduce our ability to grow food.

That genious, zer0bama, is way ahead of the curve! Kuddos to him for cutting out drilling, coal, and the like, as this forward looking leader anticipated that we would need all this fossil energy during the up and coming Maunder-II.

The reason they pushed Global Warming was to increase regulation and taxes.

True.

That’s the same reason they push any so-called science.

Not true.

There is such a thing as real science, despite the gross politicization in some areas. The studies reported in this article, which go directly against both the "conventional wisdom" and the desires of the elites, are examples.

I prefer to call it the "Gore-Hansen Minimum."

Okay, you’re right. But any real science that is done, will be used to increase regulation and taxes.

I watched a video of a Huge solar flare and the spots were huge, too. Here’s the link.

By now, the stream for the next cycle should be well underway. It isn't.

Yep, just ask any Ham operator who would love to shoot a little DX, say on 6 meters for instance, or even 10 Meters.

We are due for an ice age to kick in at any time.

Yeah, I saw that video the other day. Not sure how this works in with the sunspot cycle, but that was a heck of a CME.

Here's another one.

I want to go back and read the article "Why We Can't Beat the Soviets". I'm trying to figure out what a "Soviet" was and why we can't defeat them. Do they live in some fictional land like Narnia, Middle Earth or the Austro-Hungarian Empire?

Hey, thanks!

Here's the one I was talking about The sun is in the midst of an active phase of its 11-year solar weather cycle. The current cycle is known as Solar Cycle 24.

But this post says: ...our sun is preparing to be less active in the coming years.

Is this a system?

Ya know, I don’t think going into an ice age would be all that funny.

Let us prove algor is wrong some other way.

I was reading Eisenhower's farewell address, famously excerpted about once a week by leftists warning of the "military-industrial complex". But there is another interesting section that I had never heard of before:

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been overshadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present – and is gravely to be regarded.

"Every" scientist agrees on global warming because there is no money for any research which doesn't start with global warming as a carved in stone axiom.

Just like the ‘Hockey stick’ scam, all they want is the tax money, so saying is as good as science these days.

I’ve never read anything negative about coffee that had any convincing data to back up the rhetoric.

We all know what drinking coffee in the evening can do to our sleep, and through that mechanism it can do much mischief, but aside from that, coffee is a benefit, not a threat.
