you could club everybody in the IPCC in the head with an ice core, and it wouldn't change them

After "climate change" didn't they try "Climate Disruption"? to cover all their bases?

Oh wait - I'll answer my own question: White House: Global Warming Out, 'Global Climate Disruption' In

For some reason it didn't seem to catch on ... ;-)

“After “climate change” didn’t they try “Climate Disruption”? to cover all their bases?”

Yes, but other than being more awkward than “climate change” it still suffers from the problems I covered in post #7.

Just as with “man-caused” disasters” as a euphemism for terrorism (or for that matter “kinetic military action” as a euphemism for war) the public is not buying it.

My hopes are pinned on some kind of sane administration taking over in January 2013. :-)

The real drain on the economy is the burden placed on new ideas by the incredible cesspool of regulation, red tape and taxation any faced by any new business.

At the end of the article, it states that CERN is only releasing the data, not any conclusions. Chickens....

"At the end of the article, it states that CERN is only releasing the data, not any conclusions. Chickens...."

It's worse than that, the head of CERN is ordering those involved not to draw the obvious conclusion since that might upset the AGW / climate change / global climate disruption applecart:

The chief of the world's leading physics lab at CERN in Geneva has prohibited scientists from drawing conclusions from a major experiment. The CLOUD ("Cosmics Leaving Outdoor Droplets") experiment examines the role that energetic particles from deep space play in cloud formation. CLOUD uses CERN's proton synchrotron to examine nucleation. CERN Director General Rolf-Dieter Heuer told Welt Online that the scientists should refrain from drawing conclusions from the latest experiment. (Snip) Because, Heuer says, "That would go immediately into the highly political arena of the climate change debate."
Someday science will involve ethics again...

Thanks PreciousLiberty.
When Willi Dansgaard and Hans Oeschger discovered the 1,500 year cycle in the Greenland ice cores in 1984, they knew immediately that it was solar-powered. They'd seen exactly the same cycle in the carbon 14 molecules in trees, and in the beryllium 10 molecules in ice cores. Both sets of molecules are formed when cosmic rays strike our atmosphere.

food shortages!

Not good considering the drought in Texas has destroyed most of the crops and entirely wiped out the state's wheat crop.
Along with the flooding in other parts of the country, look for shortages and high prices to soar.
