Yet when I pointed this out to you, you come back with an argument that totally ignores what you originally said that Krakatoa erupted in 1883 some 1400 years after the start of the dark ages. You see, stefanbatory, nor muawiyah, never mentioned the 1883 eruption, yet you base your statement on one or both saying or implying just that.

Of course, they didn't mention the 1883 eruption. As I pointed out, they were referring to a supposed eruption back in 585 for which there is little evidence. I pointed out the most famous known eruption of Krakatoa, which was some 1400 years after the start of the Dark Ages. They're resting their weight on a very weak and shaky reed.

And "tu quoque" doesn't refer to drawing a conclusion not supported by the premises of the argument. I was referring to your lack of reading before jumping to a conclusion about what you, apparently, thought I said. As for the "premises of the argument," there was no argument to which I was referring, just a possible outcome based on a postulate of something that was alleged to have happened for which there exists little actual evidence.

he’s talking about a recent book that claimed the darkening of the sun and failed harvests in year 560 were probably volcanic, and some folks think it was an earlier eruption of Krakatoa.
