Is Panetta now Secretary of State?
Israeli PM Bibi Netanyahu is fast approaching the time to take down Iran and it's mad mullahs. Perhaps a decapitation strike on Tehran (and DC) would be a good thing? I would not miss the Beltway Circus on the Potomac (especially if Iran was made to look like the guilty party).
“Mend” them back to what? The 1948 good old days?
The problem with American politicians is their Ignorant belief that ANY and all problems can be fixed by TALK. With the Arabs the “talk”/ “diplomacy” they understand is blowing everything up , slaying — or enslaving anyone who disagrees with you— and LIEING to everybody to improve your position among men. None of these I could encourage Israel to attempt with their neighbors in the Arab world.America is not made stronger ,nor more secure by our diplomatic efforts with the slayers of men who have prosecuted Jihad against us periodically since our founding fathers first settled in colonies in America.Indeed IMO we are only made less free and less equal for those efforts.

The Obama administration is playing the old game, the obsolete game.
Israel will and likely is working with the Arabs, the Gulf Arabs, to reduce tension and promote more harmonious relations. The new game developed by George Bush ignores the Palestinians and allows the Arabs to bring them under control rather than force the issue on Israel.
The process is slow. Syria is being neutered and Assad will not be around much longer. Once Syria is gone, Lebanon and Hezbollah will be neutralized. With the loss of the two Iranian surrogates, Iranian influence will be drastically reduced if not eliminated.
The west bank and Gaza will be isolated.
Obama has chosen not to play and as a result has isolated himself. The players know his days are numbered and a new guy will rise, one who will enjoy the new game
The Dems have used this guy Paneta for just about everything except SOS, or for that matter POTUS.
By this sorta sortie by Paneta into international diplomacy I’m wondering if the Dems intend to replace Obama in the runup to the 2012 election with Hillary, then place Paneta in the SOS position, and Obama replacing Jimmuh Cahtah in the “If only I coulda” position running around the World sticking his nose into everybody’s business.
Seems that Paneta is their “Jack of all trades”, definitely “Master of none”.
Panetta thought actress Sharon Tate also should have 'worked with' the Charles Manson gang too...
