I nominate Allen West.
But this assumes Romney is "conservative-enough" to do this. A bad premise.
1) should help bring voters to the ticket
2) MUST be conservative
3) CANNOT be one of our "critical conservatives" such as conservative senators (Paul, Rubio, Johnson) or a strategic semi-conservative governor, such as Christie.
Pick someone from the House, or a governor from a "safe" state.
"Personnel is policy." -- Morton Blackwell Tapping a "moderate" RINO to lead his VP search means that Romney is going to emerge with another "moderate" Establishment Rockefeller Republican like himself. They plan to go "safe", not for a game changer -- having completely forgotten how Sarah boosted McCain's ticket four years ago.
So you'll wind up pairing the "progressive" Romney with another "progressive" like Pawlenty or someone of that ilk. And that's not a winnable ticket.
But this election won't be won, it will be lost. It looks like Mitt's taking the necessary steps already to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory -- like a typical Republican.
Is there any way to stop this guy? His nomination will be a disaster for the GOP -- and more importantly, for conservatism and the Constitution.

He could pick John the Baptist and it wouldn’t move me. I’ll not support Romney period.
NOTE: Romney is USING his staff from his governor years! Those are the same people who were his counselors when he thought it was just fine to have $50 abortions, gay marriages, and government imposed health care.
How many of his old Massachusetts brain trust is helping either overtly or covertly his campaign?
This is terrible news for conservatives who thought they “might” be able to support Romney.
Read the handwriting on the wall.
Smell the coffee!

Then she is just as guilty as he is.
Romneys Troubling Appointments (Mitt's environmental policy team now works for Obama) ."EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson has taken most of the fire from Republicans as her agency rolls out a slew of controversial new climate and clean air rules. But McCarthy, the EPA assistant administrator of the Office of Air and Radiation, has taken on much of the heavy lifting of writing, structuring, and implementing the rules.
Lisas the coach and Ginas the quarterback in the work of rolling out new clean air regulations, said Daniel Weiss, an energy and climate policy expert at the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank with close ties to the Obama administration. Shes running the plays, improvising on the line.
Another Romney environmental adviser in the effort to regulate greenhouse gases is now Obamas Director of Science and Technology Policy, John Holdren. Dr. Holdren has some exotic views:
.
Confused conservatives supporting Romney need to look at his list of current advisors, consultants, counselors, etc., and determine their backgrounds, and especially if they formerly worked for him in his Massachusetts years.
I’ve never supported Romney, and I never will.
However, those who are thinking of romney should carefully consider what it means if he’s still tapped into those old advisors from his $50 abortion, gay marriage, and big government years.
He is a walking disaster and conservatives are refusing to open their eyes.
Amen!
FWIW, I'm supporting conservatives with $'s, Gov. Walker, Sen. DeMint's "Senate Conservative Fund" and some congressmen. It seems to me the fight for the presidency is over and the best we can do is to negate obama's power by keeping the House and gaining the Senate.
Romney should pull out. He is a saboteur - a designated
loser for his friend Soros.
Romney taps Beth Myers... Mitt Romney has tapped a longtime adviser...
