Well by that logic...anyone for Romney should be zotted because it goes against the spirit of this forum...and any one against Romney should also be zotted because a no vote for Romney is a defacto vote for obama....again against the spirit of this forum.

Has anyone told you lately you've got a nasty mouth on you?

Over the course of years I've noticed that arbitrary carte blanche besmirching of a person't character, many times is an act engaged in by someone with an advanced case of tertiary syphilis.

I've also noticed that August is an ideal month for a complete physical checkup, Just sayin'

By the way, you wouldn't by any chance be related to David Axelrod or Debbie Wasserman Schultz, would you? Just askin'

Notice, hypocrite, that the past 10 or so posts, including yours just now, have been dedicated to besmirching MY character because I won’t sit down and shut up about who Mitt Romney is. Step back and think, but I’m not sure Mittbots are capable of thinking anymore.

My guess is “Income/payroll” must be in context of payroll tax added on top of income tax. You might have heard Obama wants to apply payroll tax (FICA/Social security, medicare) without any cut-off point.

First of all, I did not say that Romney personally "is the same" as Obama. I conceded absolutely that tactically it would obviously be better if he was the president. My point is that he would still get to the same point. He might take a longer more roundabout route and drive slower, but he isn't going to change the fundamental political balance in the US.

Secondly, both Romney and Obama have to (and would have to) deal with Republicans and Democrats alike anyway. I fail to see how the letters after their name is going to change that dynamic, especially given Romney's known "bipartisan" approach.

The point the anti-Romney camp would make (and I am not actually one of them) is that both of these men are going to sell out America's heritage - the difference is that Obama is idealogically committed to doing it, while Romney will wring his hands and agonise a bit but will eventually be convinced (or be persuaded) that he has no option but to do it.

The real problem is that politicians of all stripes (and all nationalities) no longer listen to "we the people" - you know, the saps who vote them in. They listen to political advisors, lobbyists and media consultants. They forget that very clever though these people are they are all one step removed from the democratic process. What we need is someone who can ignore what the elites say and appeal directly to the individual citizen.

I didn't say that *you* personally claimed 0bama and Romney were the same - that was the limiting case, so I used it, no permission needed.

Thre is a greater difference between the Republican and Democrat Parties than you are willing to acknowledge - the major problem in the past has been individual Republican presidents 'reaching across the aisle' to the point where they were damaging their own party.

No president can 'sell out our heritage' if their party won't let them do it. This is no guarantee it won't happen, but ultimately it is the responsibility of the electorate to prevent that from happening - the old saying applies about getting the government we deserve...with our votes.

I see you caught the irony. ;-) Thanks, your post made me chuckle after and otherwise very bad weekend.

Agreed. Have you seen the electorate these days, and the state to which political discussion has reached?
