Firing squads are never faulty and they are quick. What’s not to like?
I’ll sign up for the firing squad.
What’s the problem again?
What about a guillotine?
Some interesting debate for and against the death penalty. (I am agin it.)

Odd that the same drugs that are too cruel and unusual to execute a convicted criminal are just peachy-keen for for giving granny or a disabled infant a death with dignity, ain’t it?
Saying that there were 14,196 homicides in 2013, but only 39 executions isn’t helpful.
The average time before a death row inmate is executed is around 16 years.
That complicates the equation a lot!
Give them a choice: death, or ooga booga?
Many of the ones against capital punishment....
AND/OR culling(killing) of dogs and cats in animal shelters..
HAVE NO problem with murdering babies en masse.. i.e. abortion..
NO PROBLEM AT ALL....................
Death.

"The issue is never the issue. The issue is the revolution."
--David Horowitz, quoting unnamed SDS leader.
The prisoner to be executed should be given a thorough medical examination. On the day of his execution, he should be sent to the hospital infirmary, anathematized, pithed like a frog, and then his tissues and organs salvaged.
In this way the capital offender will be be able to, in a small way, repay some of his debt to society.
“Bungled execution...” ?
Well, if the fellow died, it worked just fine. Might not have been elegant but the bastage still died.
Problem is lack of practice as the stats show. Practice makes perfect, so speed up the time table and move ‘em all out.
” In some instances, such as the bungled execution of Oklahoma murderer-rapist Clayton Lockett last year, the results have been gruesome and disturbing.”
He died and painfully for his sins. I call that a success story.
Eyes, livers, lungs , heart and veins should be given to the needy. Then the guilty should be released!
If I was in that situation and had a choice, I would choose guillotine, or firing squad, or there is a form of liquid cyanide that is reported to kill effectively in about 15 seconds. (In the book about The Iceman, and I think that was the name of the book.)
The muslims might object that you are encroaching on their territory.
Might I suggest you read “The Death of Punishment” by Robert Blecker?
If firing squads do come back, I am certain they will no longer allow the condemned man to enjoy a last cigarette, as it would be hazardous to his health and that of his executioners.
