"You can't round them up and get a zillion Greyhound busses to ship them out.

I anxiously await your brilliant solution to that problem."

Not answering for the OP, and this is not a defense of Walker, but the term being bandied about is

Self-deportation

Involves the creation of legal structures which will make life in the US so difficult as to encourage migrants to voluntarily return to their home countries, rather than organized efforts of law enforcement to locate and deport them.

LOL! apparently you don’t read my posts very often. I like Cruz but I’m all in for Trump. I have decided Ted Cruz is a little too young to be President. He is still making mistakes like TPA and voting for the Corker bill. I would like to see him as VP or AG in a Trump Admin.

Walker's problem was that apart from his (impressive and praiseworthy) stance against the public unions, he really didn't have a much of message that wasn't standard GOP boilerplate. So when he spoke of something other than fighting the unions, there wasn't much there that distinguished him from any of the other candidates. He also fell between the cracks by trying to sell himself as a conservative alternative to the GOP establishment while aligning with the establishment on all but one or two issues. That pseudo-conservative niche is already filled by the more charismatic Rubio.

That being said, I'm not sure polls this early on mean very much or are a good enough reason to drop out unless you're completely invisible and unknown. In past elections, candidates who soared in polls 6 months before any votes were cast fizzled out in IA,NH, and SC and previous wallflowers rose to the top.

You nailed it. He would do well in a CONSERVATIVE administration..but as it's leader not.
You don't see many dems dropping out due to "name calling". The comment by him attributing part of his reason was feeble. It tells me that on a national stage he doesn't have the "killer" mentality it takes.
CONSERVATIVES don't need a weak-kneed leader, if it was between him and krispy-cream I'd choose the doughnut.

Walker also encouraged other low-polling candidates to drop out so that their supporters could consolidate against a conservative alternative to the front-runner, meaning Trump. You'll notice that he didn't say that conservatives should consolidate around a single alternative to establishment/liberal candidates like Jeb.

We have now lost two viable conservatives. . . sigh.

Still doesn’t look good for him even if you disregard the content of his statements. He flip-flopped too many times on too many issues. Three contradictory positions in one week on immigration - the ethanol flip flop - the Confederate flag flip flop and more. I’d say he weathervaned around, but the speed at which he changed positions depending on his audience would have caused a weathervane to snap off its base. Demonstrably too easy to get him to change his position on important issues... like illegal immigration.

Basically most of his positions appeared to be extremely malleable - even within the same week. Hard to believe he’d have any solid convictions or even that he would be predictable in office with that behavior. Maybe next time, but the Scott Walker of 2015 wasn’t ready for national office.

I’d support that or another minority ticket: Cruz/Jindal ‘16

I think the t-shirts reads: 'No Republicans for Bernie Sanders 2016'

I mean.. Bernie Sanders and Republicans are in different orbits...

The story behind that is Bush’s staff picked up a new batch of Bush T-shirts and never proofed them. I hope they didn’t ship them all over the U.S. before they caught it.

That is too bad. Too many candidates who have no chance, but still hang on (I am talking about Mssrs. Paul, Graham and probably Hucklebee)

and then some who could have had a chance are now dropping out.

Please don’t flame me. I don’t get the entire story up here, plus my husband had a heart attack at the beginning of August then double bypass surgery a couple of weeks ago.

So I am really not up to speed, except we did watch the recent debate.

So, I probably should not have posted at all, given my lack of up to date knowledge. But I have already spent so much time on this post! LOL!

And, my true blue sister who lives in Madison and hates Scott Walker with a passion, well, then I know we have lost a good fighter.

Good luck to Mr Walker and his family. And thanks to all the candidates for running and setting up a debate.
I am a reporter for a local paper and I know, to some degree, how hard it is on a candidate and his family to run for office.

And that is just at the municipal level in small town Canada....not for the most important job in the world.

No worries. You have a lot to deal with now. I pray your husband continues his recovery.

Wisconsin will benefit from having Walker as a full-time governor for three more years.

He’s young enough to learn from this and run again.
