I doubt they’ll “conquer” Turkey. Just f it up and carve out a huge Eastern swath from Georgia to Iraq. so they can prep for the Syrian conflict(s)? ??

” John Kerry warned Tuesday that if Russia and the Syrian regime are not serious about a political transition, he has a “Plan B” that likely would consist of a military escalation”

America has no interest in seeing Assad replaced. But what idiot would negotiate this? “We have decided you must leave, this negotiation is about how you will make that happen”.
Russia and Assad disagree on the goal, does Kerry think America wants yet another war?

I hope Obozo and his band of incompetent Marxist Islamists don't get us involved. Let Russia fix the Turkish problem once and for all.

Where are they?

Our intimidating leaders.

Idiotic women like that shouldn’t be in a policy position in the first place. All she’s doing is throwing gas on the fire.

Nope -- RUSSIA is already in open war, and this has been going on against its neighbors, against the EU members, and against the US.

Be careful what you wish for. Turkey remains a NATO country and under treaty we would be obliged to come to their aid if attacked or invaded.

Turkey is currently attacking and invading their neighbor to the south (Syria). The Russians are aiding the sovereign government of Syria.

I doubt the NATO treaty compels us to come to the aid of a member who has INITIATED a conflict, and then get their butts kicked in response.

She suffers from flatulence of the brain. Reminds me of a Yiddish saying: “A wise man knows everything that he says, but doesn’t say everything that he knows. A fool says everything that he knows, but doesn’t know everything that he says.”

Arming, training, and aiding the Kurds may provide Russia with what it wants without an open war with Turkey which could draw in NATO. That lets the Kurds tear that chunk out of Turkey to form Kurdistan which might cause Armenians to grab some border territory as well. This leaves Turkey smaller, battered, and less able to interfere in Syria.

This puts the Kurdish areas and the Syrians in the Russian sphere of influence along with the Iranians who have been there for a while. As an added bonus when Georgia see what happened to Turkey with no NATO response they will have to question their attempt to join.

Heh.

If push came to shove, I suspect Turkey could whoop Russia’s arse, if Russia tried to invade.

Russia ain’t got **it. I seriously doubt the Ruskies could support a single full division in expeditionary mode.

Hell, no matter what the paper work says, I doubt Ruskie could fully equip a mechanized brigade with functional vehicles.
