Let’s hope he ends this with last night

But given what was revealed of his character and ambition- I believe he could be a dangerous man

If Trump is the candidate, she will win.

However, this author is more perceptive than most and sees that Trump is not a Republican, never has been, and simply used a weak party structure as a launching pad for his own insane ambitions, whatever they may be.

A lot of that was the fault of the party, which never insisted on adherence to conservative positions in practice but just let the name be used by anybody. And Trump is the ultimate Republican In Name Only.

“What does all this have to do with the NBA playoffs or baseball?”

Lupica is employed by the MSM. In my opinion, attacking Trump and conservatives and praising liberals and leftists is a career move. I'm not sure if he even wrote the article. He may have just put his name on it.

The Republican party is not the Republican party any more.

Trump is the first to come along since Reagan, and I’m all in for him.

The Republican party is more liberal than JFK the Democrat.

This is what I see happening under President Trump...

(from a previous FR post)

A robust national defense
Securing our borders
Trade deals that ACTUALLY benefit the workers if this country
Energy independence
Defending the 2nd Amendment
Reducing regulations
Eliminating unnecessary government agencies and departments
Balancing our budget
Taking care of veterans
Defending and backing our friends
Avoiding unnecessary foreign entanglements
and opposing our enemies

Sound like Reagan?

Lupica stopped making sense about sports 20 years ago. Why would I care what he says about politics?

In other words, you’re afraid Trump will become another Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell

You know, the faces and leaders of the GOP, the party for conservatives

Thankfully our party has someone with a backbone to finally take a stand against leftist Liberals and sniveling RINOs.

Memo to Lupica: The GOP needs to be reformed. Its a disaster at the moment and if it were not for Trump would be heading for another resounding defeat in Nov.

The take down of the Democrats is going to be EPIC. I predict many of the #nevertrump morons will start secretly cheering once the real campaign starts. They’ll either come around or they’ll stay home. It won’t matter because Trump is going to pull independents and blue dog Democrats like mad. Also his numbers with hispanics and blacks is going to cause a lot of underwear changes.

...what [Trump] has done is closer to throwing an entire political party down an elevator shaft.

Really? I think the established GOP pissed off enough of us that we just went to the poles to let them know about it. And, who knows, perhaps his business experience will prove more worthwhile that an economic illiterate with only community fund raising experience. Indeed, I think anyone who can fog a mirror would be better than what we have now.

“sees that Trump is not a Republican, never has been,”

Fascinating. He’s been a registered Republican since at least 1989 according to his voting registration history, which is widely available on the internet.

Apparently so do the devoted repubs hooked up with #nevertrump. How sad is that? They’d rather have hildebeast or bernie over Donald.

The Butcher of Benghazi. How conservative of them. The never Trump lot seem to be an attention seeking mob today. Pathetic beyond words.

This reminds me of when Sarah Palin was first selected to be McCains VP . On one of her first TV appearances, when asked about her advice for the GOP , she replied the GOP should wholeheartedly embrace the tea party movement. They didn’t and that’s where we are now .

He didn’t promise to abolish the IRS, federalize potty police to protect toilets, and make abortion illegal...
If only we could have had Ted to really work with congress and get these things done
