It sure is snowing like crazy there. And it's a wet snow.

The first year I watched the Great Blue Herons at Ithaca, it snowed late in April and poor Dad was stuck on the nest for almost 24 hours. We got worried about Mom but she finally showed up and was A-OK. But Dad had a miserable night as he was covered with snow except for his head.

He got up right after I got the scap and shook off. Then back down on the eggs he was brooding.
He sure was happy when Mom showed up in the morning and he could go off to get something to eat!

The young man who died was unmarried and had no children. But his father and brother both are DPW employees - fortunately not present at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was not injured and was released after questioning. If charges are not forthcoming - involuntary manslaughter at least - I and many others will be outraged.
