That’s what I thought. I never felt a thing, then I started pissing blood. PSA was 33 , it would have been a lot easier and safer had I caught it when it was less than 6 or 7. Every man gets it, it just depends when.
And if it gets in your bones ,it’s not a nice way to die.
I have a 71yr old friend who lives 90 miles north of Toronto. Last fall he went into work and the lady in the office asked him if he felt all right. His reply was slurred and the next thing he knew he was having an ambulance ride to St Mike’s in Toronto. He had 4 stents put in by noon. The surgeon called one artery that got a stent the “widow maker”. He presented his OHIP card and went to his sister’s for 2 days to rest then went home to his dog.
My Dad just turned 92 and has end stage kidney failure. He gets excellent care, a blood test every week . The results are emailed to him and his doctor, within 12 hours.
Every province handles their health care a bit different. I and my family have no complaints. Canadians may leave for elsewhere to get their care for their own reasons but Americans who do the same.
Same as Flonase + Serevent (Salmeterol) combined in one medication. Perhaps less expensive taken separately.
Just spotted your post.
My MD gave me Advair——I have had it for 3 months and have yet to try it,the directions confused me.
From your post I would assume it works well.
Does it impair sleep? I have a tough enough time with that.
Well, my doctor at the time, 15 years back, explained the benefits of dosing it together as a sprayer. Don’t know. I have 80% prescription coverage so doesn’t matter much to me.
And no, I don’t recognize it being an issue for sleep.
One of the thing no one will ever write is the healthcare systems are drastically over stretched because the Korean War generation through the boomers are living longer than any generation before them.
And—there are so many of them, there just is not the capacity in the system. In 20 years, the bubble will have moved through the system. Our children and grandchildren will see more capacity in just about all aspects of their lives.
Too bad we won’t be alive to see this.
Thanks for your reply.
I think that I will try it-——and puffiness in the face wouldn’t really bother me if I felt better.
I don’t know of anyone who does take it so your help is much appreciated.
.
No, I don’t think the U.S. can afford it; America is the world’s police and we need to keep our military in top shape.
Canada has the luxury of knowing that if it were ever attacked, the U.S. would be there in a heartbeat.
I apologize if I double posted; got distracted and wasn’t sure this went through. :) Having laptop problems, too.
But you must like living in Canada :)
How are taxes there like?
Nothing is “free”, someone has to pay for it... You already did via taxes.
Universal Health Care bump for later....

Some recent news.
Brampton is about 550,000 people. It’s next door to Mississauga>1,000,000 people. Both very close to Toronto.
Big brouhaha on the radio during my drive home, about “Hallway Medicine”
Seems to be about 12 patients per day (average) assigned to a spot in a hallway

“Between April 2016 to April 2017 there were 4,352 hallway patients at BCH with significant lengths of stay ranging from 40 to nearly 70 hours,” says the briefing note by Joanne Flewelling, the interim CEO of William Osler Health System. It is dated July 20.
