"Global Warming" isn't particular hard to understand or accept. For example...it was well established long ago that there's irrefutable evidence that Central Park (the one in Manhattan) was,as recently as,IIRC,10,000 years ago, enveloped in a glacier that was 2,000 feet thick. It was also established, long ago, that that glacier had completely vanished thousands of years ago.

What *is* tough to understand is *man made* global warming. After all,the internal combustion engine most assuredly did *not* cause that 2,000 foot high glacier to vanish.

So why isn’t the public heeding scientists and demanding climate action by politicians that could help deal with these destructive extremes?

Glad you asked, its because even if all the nonsense about human caused global warming was true, non of the costly solutions you seek would make a lick of difference preventing it.

If you could prove to me its true then a rational call to action would be about mitigating the predictable effects and enhancing infrastructure etc.

But they never talk about that. They talk about transferring wealth from the first world to the third and crony green capitalism. None of which would have any effect on the warming or cooling of the atmosphere.

The human brain is designed to reject illogical conceptions and conclusions drawn from fallacies.

Humans aren’t well-wired to act on complex statistical risks.

They're lying to us and then calling us stupid because we won't believe their lies.

Because we are prone not to believe in BS.

If medical science was used in the fashion liberals use climate science, bleeding with leeches would still be a common cure used today.

Humans aren’t well-wired to act on complex statistical risks.

Conservatives are far better equipped to analyze complex situations than liberals are. That much I know for sure.

Why our brains make it hard to grapple with global warming

This is why those people combatting Global Warning aren't using their brains.
