Like I said it was not the world today. Many parents were ok to have their daughter date and even marry an older settled man who would take care of her.

Well, if that’s the law, then there should be no problem.
The 3 girls he dated were 17 and above. LEGAL by Alabama law.
The main issue is the 14 year old’s story.
Also, Is there any accusation that he raped or had sex with any of these women?
I mean “dating” could mean that you went out with the girls. Heck 16 year old gates date today. What’s the big deal?
The woman who says he dated her when she was 14, said in the Washington Post article that no sex occurred. Therefore, Alabama's consent laws are irrelevant, since he could not have violated them even if the accuser's testimony is true.
All he is accused of is "dating" younger women, as in going out with them. None of them, as far as I recall, mentioned anything about having sex with him.
Dating teenage girls: Gotta admit, I find the thought to be creepy myself.
But it does appear to be a “thing” in some pockets of the South. A former business colleague who had been stationed in a remote part of Kentucky told me that all of the young girls there were pursuing guys 30 and older. The major social event of the season was the 18-year old star of the high-school basketball team marrying her 41-year old coach.

Back then the verb "to date" did not automatically imply sexual contact, as it seems to now.
Nope.
The one who claimed she was 14 aside, they all seem to say the same thing. They went out, he was attentive and romantic, not sexual. Kisses seem to be as far as it went.
The even the 14 year old one does not allege sex either just touching over underwear.
And that is the essence of the smear: to say that Moore "dated" teenage girls, in order to imply to modern audiences that he was having sex with teenage girls below the age of consent.
Either Moore is lying or the women and The Washington Post (by extension) are lying.

Well, I know the Washington Post lies all the time.
They may have paid for women to lie.
What this really is all about is preventing US from electing anyone who would side with US and the rule of law.
Are you serious? The idea of 32 assitant DA dating minors doesn't raise a red flag for you?
