LoL and to think how the Saudis and Chinese greeted him...oh the irony.
Also irony, large protests will help President Trump.
Yes Brexit proved the Silent Majority is alive and well - as do all the turns to conservativism and sovereignty in Europe as of late...though the “silent” Brits need some encouragement because likeminded voices in Parliament are lacking.
Trump was probably a lot safer in those countries, too.
I’m actually a little worried about this trip. Britain is chock full of loons these days.
Go for it, Mr. President.
I would guess that many in the UK do not like being told the truth. They must be the progressives who live in their own Utopian world.
Setting aside their foolishness, the visit by the Trump Administration might be critically important to the success of the Brexit and the economic success of the UK.
People from the UK who want to stay mired in socialism, under EU directives, and the morass of economic decline, will continue to be against Trump.
Would they rather see the UK under Sharia Law? Or will, in their blindness, continue to fool themselves until it is too late?
...”Also irony, large protests will help President Trump.”...
Yes. There is nothing as effective as unjust punishment and persecution when it comes to spreading the news.
I think he should delay his visit until February 30-31.
Casting pearls before swine...
Think how the Poles greeted him.
I think he shouldn’t go. They will insult him endlessly. I was there during the George W. Bush state visit and it was awful. It wasn’t even safe for American tourists. The Brits can be a miserable people.
Part of me wants to say screw the Brits but another part wants to believe there is enough of GB left worth saving.
Why is the exact date announced so far ahead of time? Is that normal protocol?
As we say on this side of The Pond: They're burning daylight.
“spurred harsh criticism from many in the UK.”
many = a couple of dozen loony Marxist twits.
“...Some of those condemning Trump said...”
Some = three or four deranged British Stalinists.
Yeah Poland was the best. There, Trump gave the speech of his presidency. My favorite of his so far. He’d be well received by other central European powers like Hungary. Macron in France treated him well too as guest of honor on Bastille Day. Credit where it’s due.
Good phrase.
My family bugged outta Britain in the 1630s. Best decision we ever made.
