We want a wall, we want it now. Walls work. Ask Israel.

“Cut off their funds.”

That won’t work. They’ll just run deficits till Trump is out of office. Harboring illegals is a felony. Until you start putting these seditious asshats in prison, this lawlessness will continue unabated.

The issue is always before them. They just chose to ignore it.

It’s starting to make sense. Sorry for being so slow, and thank you.

It’s a damn good indication which way they’ll rule when/if a case ever gets that far.

“Supreme Court has overrode lower court decisions.”

Not really. They just put a hold on the lower court’s injunction until they get a chance to hear the case. There’s nothing to keep them from hearing it and deciding the lower courts were right. (Though the vote on this issue makes it clear that at the moment only the two dissenters think that’s true)

"And, of course, they’re also not ruling on the merits of them now"

What merits are you talking about? I wasn't aware that the supreme court could decide what Constitutional powers the executive had...What a maroon

There was nothing to keep them from vacating the lower courts unconstitutional edicts on the spot. They didn't. goron

“The issue is always before them.”

Nah,one of the parties has to petition them to get involved. Nobody did until recently.

I’m kind in favor of that, I don’t want the SC sticking its nose into cases where nobody wants its opinion.

A ruling that the case has no merit is still a ruling on the merits.

The problem is that a lower court judge already forbade the US govt from cutting off the funds. This needs to all the way to the Supreme Court, because I cant see how a city, locality or state can refuse to accept national jurisdiction in something like this.

Not with flights and container ships in a huge country like ours. They are smuggled in from Asia and the ME every day here in the ports of Florida.

Israel is a lot smaller than we are, and even there it only works because the law is enforced. Start enforcing it here.

That’s been addressed. The language of the current order extends it until all possible appeals are over.

Just because there are other illicit ways to get into the USA doesn’t mean the wall isn’t necessary or not going to work. It is non political means of security and cannot be undone by the next liberal idiot president. At a cost of a mere $20B over 4 or five years it is next to nothing in cost.

Here’s the language:

The application for a stay presented to Justice Kennedy and by him referred to the Court is granted, and the District Court’s October 20, 2017 order granting a preliminary injunction is stayed pending disposition of the Government’s appeal in the United States
Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and disposition of the Government’s petition for a writ of certiorari, if such writ is sought. If a writ of certiorari is sought and the Court denies the petition, this order shall terminate automatically. If the Court
grants the petition for a writ of certiorari, this order shall terminate when the Court enters its judgment.

President Trump should send the military into California and arrest Governor Moonbeam, along with any mayors that enforce sanctuary policies. We are in a cold civil war, so we should use the military in dealing with the enemy.

Yeah, I’m kind of in favor of letting the corrupt lower courts run roughshod over the Constitution. Destroying what’s left of our constitutional republic /s
