As impressive as the “tank man” photo is - the wider view, uncropped image is even more impressive with the row of tanks heading back into the distance and disappearing around a corner iirc. With that large a show of force, I can easily imagine 10,000+ people killed. Sick.

Ghandi and MLK are constantly praised for standing up with peaceful protests against their immoral governments. Peaceful protests work onely if the government has a certain degree of morality.
This is no surprise whatsoever.
It’s interesting that now we are starting to hear about our “friends” in China are really bloodthirsty dictators. To anyone alive at the time, this is not a secret.
But there are a whole lot of Millenials that need to be “educated” as we move closer to a far eastern conflict.

I had no idea of the scale and brutality of the slaughter.
