You’re absolutely correct: one way the uniparty retains control is by perpetuating an atmosphere where everyone is at each other’s throats. Once you start talking to people calmly, you find out that the ideas and dreams people have aren’t all that different. Most people just want to be left alone in peace.
What this guy is suggesting is too difficult to implement in practice. Keep It Super Simple: politics is a scam, and given limited time and resources we’re better off ignoring it and focusing on things that matter such as our families and God. The politicians are going to do what they’re going to do. We need not volunteer to give them any more attention, time, or treasure.

On the whole I would agree with you about that, but when he started extolling the virtues of obama, even while disagreeing with him on everything, it bothered me!
Thanks for the reply. We respectfully disagree. In my opinion, we have a de facto one party system, a uniparty, that has controlled politics throughout my lifetime. The personalities don’t much matter.
What does matter in my view is how we lead our lives. Do we glorify God? Do we raise our children to be good people? Are we doing the things that the Bible implores us to do? Do we work with others to improve our lot? Do we work hard at our vocation? Are we making the world a better place for those who follow us?
A really smart guy who died a few years back had a very astute observation. He said (and I’m paraphrasing) that politics exists downstream from culture. And it does. If we want to make a positive and lasting impact, we have to work on the culture.
