You better re-read it. I explain exactly how it pertains to Tesla. You obviously haven't driven many EVs. They're not at all cool - when driving in a hot sun. They simply don't store sufficient energy to properly air condition the car.
And I certainly don't have E/V Derangement. I've participated in a design team that designed, developed, and produced one.
Your theory centers on Tesla being sold to a major auto manufacturer.
I don’t think Musk intends that, he wants to keep it as its own independent entity.
I drove a Leaf for 2 years, around Atlanta. HVAC was not a problem. “Range anxiety” was gotten over quickly (plan accordingly).
As for EVD, you’re in a thread full of it - easy to be mistaken for having it.
Answer: about $5B. All has been more than “paid back” in taxes.
“...seems author is scared Musk will succeed.”
Succeed at what though? I mean, I’m scared Musk will succeed at continuing to fleece the US taxpayers and line his own pockets in the process.
Sure people pay lots of money for crap.
They just need to do some gap analysis.
On their panels.
What is this “crap” of which you speak (in this thread in particular)?
Got some numbers for that accusation? Or just generically flinging ad-hominem attacks for no good reason?
” I had to go on line and spend 15 minutes changing a headlight lamp; theyre at the front of a box you have to take apart, and can only access by opening the hood. “
Sounds about par for most modern vehicles. On my Chevy finding and then unlocking the retaining frame was comparable to solving a Rubik’s Cube.
All a guy has to do is google “Tesla meeting production goals” and the list of shortfalls is as long as Tesla’s waiting list.
I’m not gloating, I’m not attacking you guys, but the ‘there’ just isn’t there, and never has been, has it?
The fact that Musk’s supporters get angry, combatative at questions (yes, I know many doubters may exaggerate at times) just doesn’t help the case.
Would you buy Tesla stock today?
Yes, I would buy Tesla stock.
Apple went thru a bad patch too. That would have been the best time to buy other than at startup. And I missed the IPO of Microsoft by choice, worst mistake of my life.
What gets me is all the naysaying smearage when Tesla _is_ turning out some 2000 cars per week, which is only off goal by a factor of 2.5 during a very aggressive startup phase, surprising no-one. Were they off by a factor of 10-100 I’d be concerned.
“Got some numbers for that accusation?”
Well, $4.9 billion, as of back in 2015. God only knows how much he’s managed to bilk us of since then.

but that's the problem - he's an engineer, not a bean-counter and he's an unrealistic project manager. That's what has hit him
Not so much VW as nissan-renault. The leaf is a wonderful electric city car.
