Breitbart News reporter Warner Todd Huston was recently suspended from Twitter for stating his belief that transgender people suffer from mental illness. I don't even think it's debatable if one is rational. They suffer from depression in very disproportionate levels and also succumb to suicide and excessive rates. Unless the standard line is now that depression and suicidal thoughts are healthy mental states, by definition most of them are mentally ill.
And that doesnt even take into account the underlying transgender desires, which I believe are similar to people who have a recognized mental illness where they desire to have limbs amputated or their eyes blinded. Nobody argues they are mentally healthy but if you want your sexual organs chopped off it's beyond the pale to say that's not normal. And trying to help them before they permanently maim themselves is, of course, going to be made illegal soon. Because the left doesn't care about them, really. They just want the issue.
