When I started at Auburn prison (NY State Max) as an officer back in 1980, there was a male inmate there who had breasts. It was something I had never seen before, but at the prison, it wasn't a big deal. There were no problems with this convict or about him during the 3 1/2 years I was there before transferring out. I retired in 2003, and as far as I know the State has not changed their policy on this issue. If they ever do, they'll be opening up a whole can of worms.
