Yes, the issue is their ultimate agenda. The money made is the vehicle, the agenda determines their damage.

"I just did the same search on Google and President Trump was the 1st image shown on top of the result screen." I tried the same. I got about 10 stories about Trump on the 1st page.
Tried a search for my name, got 3 obituaries. The rumors of my death are much exaggerated.
You might be right.

Google tracks us all, when we search, we get custom results.
I doubt that happens with duckduckgo.com

There were some articles a while back about Google being able to “fingerprint” computers to get around privacy restrictions. They were proud of it.

Your statement is credible. All PC’s have id info. Some Intel chips allowed huge amounts of that.
All nic cards have an ID number.
There are ways around that, but it takes some effort from what I’ve been told.

I couldn’t find the specific Google articles, but here is another similar one.
https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/02/now-sites-can-fingerprint-you-online-even-when-you-use-multiple-browsers/
Not even formal ID information, which is commonly blocked, but:
“The new technique relies on code that instructs browsers to perform a variety of tasks. Those tasks, in turn, draw on operating-system and hardware resourcesincluding graphics cards, multiple CPU cores, audio cards, and installed fontsthat are slightly different for each computer. For instance, the cross-browser fingerprinting carries out 20 carefully selected tasks that use the WebGL standard for rendering 3D graphics in browsers. In all, 36 new features work independently of a specific browser.”
