The left were never fun. Their actions lead to the deaths of upwards of a hundred million people last century, and our own civil war 150 years ago. That’s not ‘fun’ by any metric.

Because everything said or written now has to go through a filter of “am I offended, or is there anyone on earth who could possibly be offended.” They have to process that very carefully, because if the answer is yes, then they can kicked out of the club for laughing or even accidently smirking.
Liberals stopped being fun in 1967.
It took until 2009 for conservatives to notice.
They do seem incapable of all the normal things like self-deprecation and laughing at ones own faults once in a while. In fact when one is pointed out they quickly find someone or something else to blame it on rather than just going with it and accepting it like a normal person would.
A normal person might say; you know I never looked at myself that way. Thanks for pointing it out. A person can’t improve themselves if they don’t first accept they have faults needing improvement. Heck; all of us are mere human mortals with faults and strengths. The good ones work on turning their faults into strengths.
All of this is just a long way to say libs/leftists are stuck on stupid.

Liberals are fun. They can laugh - even at themselves. They can discuss, debate, and disagree but not get angry. They can change my views with knowledge and logic. They can change their mind based on my knowledge and logic. Or we can disagree and have a beer.
“Lefties” are not fun. They have stolen “liberalism” by silencing liberals and pretending to be liberal - but they are not liberals. They CANNOT laugh at themselves. The comedy they can laugh at is based on hate, not humor. Discussion, debate, and disagreement are not allowed. Even liberals are not allowed to state an opposing opinion without getting attacked by lefties. So liberals remain silent and lefties get all the publicity for the non-conservative side. If you think it’s bad being a conservative talking to a lefty, try being a liberal who disagrees with their reasoning while taking their side on a left/right discussion.
We need more liberals to speak up. We need liberals to take back the Democratic party.
It is painfully obvious that the good of the nation is placed far behind the effort to return all political power into the hands of the left.
Almost anything, to include attitudes, gets old. They aren’t any more or less fun than they used to be. Everyone else is just tired of laughing at them as they are creating a nuisance of themselves more because they are of the opinion they can talk anyone to death without accomplishing anything but being a pain. If they win, they force their hand upon the taxpayers. If they lose, they do the same. The media is just getting better at helping them and can now do it openly without fear of retaliation.
Trump threw them off the people’s plane. That is one of the reasons I voted for him. More of the, so called, conservative people in congress need to follow his lead. Let them get caught lying as to why. Enough of that and they won’t be able to get a liberal elected to dog catcher. But that takes a pair the GOP hasn’t indicated it’s willing to bare.

Progressive Whackos, Racial Politics, and Elitist Money.
Another thing worth noting is today’s leftists are not the same as yesterdays liberals. Very different breed IMHO. I’d go so far as to say yesterdays libs had more in common with today’s conservatives than they would with today’s leftists. That isn’t to say they were the same; but not so 180 out either.
Other than the militants (Black Panthers and KKK for example) there wasn’t nearly the visceral hate being generated between the libs and conservatives like there is today. Dislike; yes. Hate; no. It was confined to the extremes of both sides rather than being more mainstream like it is now.
One wonders how we got here because conservatives have remained relatively unchanged over the decades so that only leaves the left becoming different, moving much further left, becoming radicalized soviet style communists as seen by their actions more than their words. I bet even the soviet communist hardliners would not like today’s American leftist; at least I hope not.

They’re not liberal anymore. They’re leftist totalitarians.
Classical liberals (Senator Sam Ervin, for example) could be good Americans and support the Constitution AND they had a sense of humor. If they were not openly Christian, they were not anti-Christian or against the Judeo-Christian culture of the United States.
Today’s liberals, whom I prefer to call “progressives” out of respect for the Classical liberals, are Marxist/socialist totalitarians. Show me a Soviet or Nazi official with a sense of humor.
Progressives are extremely serious about revoking the Constitution. They are extremely serious about destroying the remains of the Christian culture, to the point that most of them are indistinguishable from Satanists. They are so extremely serious they can’t make a good natured joke. But if they tried to make a joke, most normal Americans would be embarrassed to laugh at it.
Yeah, I call it the New Puritanism.
Time to take them off.
