I was saying to a friend over breakfast the other day that every historical era seems to have a disease that defines it.
In the 18th century, it was smallpox. In the 19th, TB. Early 20th, polio.
I suppose you could say that cancer is the disease that defines my lifetime (I was born in 1957).
But more and more, I think the plague of our time is mental illness and its treatment with powerful psychoactive drugs like SSRIs.
Based on most of the reading I’ve done, I now believe the side effects from these drugs often make patients worse.
I’d like to get a peek at the medicine cabinets of some of our RAT social justice warriors. I’d bet more than half of these snowflakes are on Prozac or something equally potent.
