On the contrary, Texas should be very proud to be upholding the law when others are too weak to do so.

#1 - expand the use of the death penalty for major crimes (not just the most grievous-meditated/complicating factor murders). All unjustified and non-accidental/negligent homicides should at least carry the POSSIBILITY of being executed. Violent rape should also qualify as a death penalty-eligible crime, along with a myriad of other serious offenses.

#2 - Any prosecutor and law enforcement found guilty of engineering/fabricating/faking evidence, withholding evidence, or otherwise fraudulently presenting a case that results in the death penalty - said prosecutor or law enforcement be subjected to the same penalty the wrongly-convicted faced.

#3 - broadcast executions live.

Well, that and the fact that many of our potential “victims” are better armed than the bad guys.

Houston is a liberal shithole and crime cesspool.

As I wrote in a column almost 40 years ago, “An executed murderer never kills again”.

The victims families need JUSTICE too, and society needs to be safe from this potential jail-escapees.

The Innocence Project is a good organization in terms of helping to get innocent people off of death row and often back to freedom. Barry Sheck is one of their leaders.

However, when there is no doubt that a person is THE killer (or accomplice), then its’ time for them to die for their crimes.

Ideally, the death penalty should never be needed, but we don’t live in an ideal world. It’s the only just and guaranteed permanent penalty for the worst murder cases.

On the positive side, it drastically reduces repeat offenders!

“I don’t see any members of the Houston Chronicle’s editorial board offering to accept any of these offenders into their homes if they’ll only be granted clemency.”

I’d wager that all of them do not live in Houston proper, probably in the suburban neighborhoods. Every night in the evening news we get the stories about the shootings, rapes, sex slavery, child abuse etc. from the Progressive sh!thole of Houston .... and we’re 200 miles away.

I wish more states, including mine, would start executing the monsters with the frequency of Texas. Too many linger for WAY TOO LONG on death row. Isn’t at all fair to their victims.

Start using the gallows. Then the cost of execution would be $20 feet of rope, good fora couple years or 100s of uses!
