Will the FBI declassify their meetings with Steele that they just classified April of this year when they had over a year to do just this and then decided for some reason to spring it on us all April of this year?

So she has no pull whatsoever behind the scenes?

I’ve got a new suspicion, based on some recent revelations, that Steele may not be the true author/compiler of the information in his dossier and that he did not get the information from his “Russian spy network”.

I suggest the possibility that the information came from political partisans, and that he was paid to write it up to look like “intelligence” and put his name on it because of his relationship with the FBI and history in the MI-6, to give the information an air of credulity and a pretext for the FBI to “trust” it and use it to justify its spying on Trump.

Why do I say this? Consider the following points:

1) Jonathan Wise, a State Dept deputy, wrote an Op-Ed in the WaPo saying that he received a ‘dossier’ containing similar allegations in the Steele memos, from longtime Clinton confidant Sydney Blumenthal. As we also know from the Clinton server investigation releases, Blumenthal was acting in part as an independent intelligence gatherer for Hillary outside the intel apparatus.

This raises some questions - did Blumenthal get the Steele memos before Steele ever wrote them? Or, could it be that people associated with the Clinton team wrote them first, couldn’t get any traction with them, and then decided to hire Steele to fix them up and put his name on them and get it to the FBI?

2) Steele met with Kathleen Kavalec, also a State Dept deputy. Kavalec wrote a memo to the FBI about this meeting in which she writes that Steele said he was working for “an institution that had been hacked” that was “eager to see the information get to the public before the election”.

3) At least two pieces of information in the dossier was old and previously looked into. First, the allegation that Trump had computers connected to a Russian bank was reported to the FBI by the DNC months before Steele wrote his dossier. The FBI investigated the DNC claim and found it to be nothing. But this shows that the allegation existed and was used by partisans before the dossier was written. Second, Trump’s private attorney Cohen testified before Congress that this “rumor of a pee tape” had been floating around for years, but that nobody believed it to be true and Cohen did not ever locate anyone who saw it, was never approached by anyone or tried to buy it/suppress it, and nobody tried to blackmail Trump with it.

These facts suggest that at least parts of dossier was not intelligence, but instead a collection of smears, innuendos and old rumors which were compiled by an ‘expert’ who was paid handsomely to look like some sort of intelligence gathering operation.

I agree.
Steele was the front man.
“Intel” came from Blumenthal/Ohr

Nellie Ohr wrote parts of the dossier. It’s a farie tale fabricated by the US government, to be used to take out Trump.

I think that’s right. This info did not come from the Russians I think. But since it showed that Hillary was conspiring with the Russians some of us did not harp on the fact that it was not really credible that it came from the Russians. There was no percentage in pointing that out. Having said that, it is at least true that Hillary thought she was getting info from the Russians and she was happy to do so.

Does anyone know when the Horowitz report on comey is due?...not for many months according to Joe DiGenova - the FBI under Mr. Smirk Christopher Wray has been stonewalling on giving up many documents needed in Horowitz's investigation - suddenly once Bill Barr took over as AG, Wray became more cooperative and those docs are being produced - now Horowitz has to go back and review them in light of his previous findings, integrate them with those findings, and look into any new leads they may offer - so we're still waiting.........................................

I’ll believe this when I see Steele in the “dock”.

He’s a psychopathic liar, a possible traitor to England, a greedy little shit, and a Democrat Party information “pimp”.

Sure I’ll trust him.

The only way I would believe him if he is subject to U.S. laws, esp. those concerning illegal interference in our elections, Soviet/Russian collusion (his three “sources), possible receiving laundered money from Hillary/DNC thru Fusion GPS and Coie Perkins (which should be investigated for criminal activities on behalf of the Democrats/Clinton, members jailed and disbarred, and the firm fined in the millions).

If Barr or Horowitz or anyone else is going to deal with Steele, it has to be from a position of absolute power/authority and legal justifications re violations of U.S. laws.

If they don’t want to do it, I’m available. The last thing you want is to have to answer an Interrogatory or Deposition hearing with me in control. I’ve spent 50 years asking questions from No. Vietnamese POWS/Defectors, VC defectors, former communists and active communists in the U.S., of Soviet emigres, Israel IDF leaders, fighters for Israel’s creation, So. Vietnamese and Cambodian leaders and soldiers, former FBI leaders, CIA/DIA leaders, etc.

You’d be amazed at what you can learn if you know your subject matter and ask the right question.

There is so much additional history to be learned just by doing that. Right now, most Republicans in Congress wouldn’t know how to question a dead chicken (except Nunes, Meadows, Jordan and a couple of Senators).

You get one shot at the truth in this Democrat poisoned world so you cannot afford to blow it on irrelevant issues and questions. You go right for the jugular when you really know your subject matter, target, and documented “truths”.

I like AG Barr and I hope that IG Horowitz is as competent as people say he is. Otherwise, “Call me”.

AMAZING, PRESIDENT TRUMP GOES TO ENGLAND
THE NEXT DAY...CHRISTOPHER STEELE WANTS TO COOPERATE WITH THE US.

MAGIC.

CTH take is a good one, IMO. The point of the inquiry is to get to the bottom of a criminal referral sent to DOJ by Grassley.

Last week they released a report that someone caught for leaking was referred for criminal prosecution and wasn’t prosecuted. I wondered at the time if that wasn’t the Comey report. (And yeah I know it’s been theorized it’s McCabe or one of his minions - but Comey leaked too.)

Some people on 4chan claimed credit for the “hired hookers to pee on the bed” part. The part that Comey thought effective enough, that he could use it to pull a Hoover/blackmail Trump.

That’s the part that’s always confused me. If you’received just gonna make cr@p up, why go anywhere? And it sure doesn’t need to cost millions of dollars.

Which makes me wonder if the dossier wasn’t the product, but an excuse.

And if an excuse, for....what?

Seriously? I don’t think so. She has one meeting a week in which she makes her point of view clear but I don’t think it has had any effect on policy. Unless, of course, her policy is the destruction of her own country which I doubt.
