What are the religions of folks working at these hotels?

Methanol. Not a hell of a drug.

How can these all be “isolated incidents”? The DR politician is speaking nonsense...

MADDOG is the acronym every MD knows by heart when confronted in the ER with a comatose patient for whom you have a very brief interval in which to accomplish something. I assure you, EVERY ER doctor can recognize methanol poisoning in moments. If this were the true COD (Cause of Death) it would have been known in literally moments upon arrival in an ER or morgue. So we know, right now, at this moment, that either 1) it was NOT methanol or 2) it was, and that knowledge was suppressed by somebody who could do so.

Boot-leg?

No way.

Just trying to throw everyone off the trail of a likely murderer on staff. . .ROP? Who knows but most certainly not Amish.

They all died after having a drink from the mini bar. Bootleg liquor would be a good bet. Why did it take so many deaths to figure that one out?

Actually, homeless alcoholics are VERY good at titrating just how much methanol it takes to prolong the effect of their Night Train. They do it all the time. Of course, like everyone, they occasionally screw up which is how ER Docs get so good at recognizing it. Clinically it produces a “metabolic acidosis” which is pretty unique to Aspirin and Methanol and can be diagnosed very quickly. So methanol is actually “a hell of a drug” and like heroin if you screw It up the risk is permanent.

I would not be surprised if this had nothing to do with the minibar alcohol.

Living in a third world country, we used to smash the empty bottles of imported booze to insure it wouldn’t be refilled.

I can agree in part with the statement. Being an isolated incident means that these people were not specifically targeted as the probable cause was methanol put into alcohol bottles that were distributed to resorts. What is not isolated about it would be that tourists, in general, are being targeted.

Or someone intentionally put those there to poison the guests.

Why anyone would get on a plane and go there under these circumstances is a mystery to me. Between these bizarre deaths and the deaths in Mexico from tainted alcohol, you would be a fool to go either place.
